I tried to give them a niche as nomadic chalton herders in the desert but they got locked to a non-rotating camp solely in the Salt Flats oddly enough. I had no say in any of that, and as much as I wanted to change up some parts of the documentation toward the end, everything had to be finalized and I couldn't adjust anything past a certain point. If you'd ever played one before the closure, you might have found them to be quite more in-depth than given credit for. That's just my two-sids on it. Easy to sit back and say that they don't feel unique when you haven't actually gone through and picked apart he documentation (that was months in the making).

TLDR: they're the remnants of a tribal conglomeration just trying to survive after their near-annihilation during the Salt Wars (which was 30 or so IG years ago prior to their release). The first wave of PCs were the direct descendants of the NPCs who participated in it.

huh, I came up with the Zeif Akir elf tribe + some initial documentation for them in 2015. I wonder if they are using what I wrote or if they scrapped it all and started over! Hope that does not derail the q&a to mention, I just didn't expect to see that random little pet project of mine from almost 10 years ago listed here as playable when I poked my nose in today.

I find think especially useful when it might not be clear to a staff observer why my character is doing something. Often those uses of think are very basic, like "I'd better get to the shop before it closes" or "I need to finish making these cups like I told Amos I would."  Or if my character has thoughts about something they're seeing, but the thoughts aren't something they would necessarily vocalize. "What in the world is he wearing?" "Who does she think she is?" "This soup is too bland." Also think is very useful if my character is lying, but it wouldn't otherwise be obvious to someone who just started watching the scene.

I don't use feel as much, but I like the versatility of the feel command. I use it to highlight physical things like achy knees, or things more tied to emotion like feeling bored, or inspired, or eager to impress.

For some characters I use bio quite a bit, and for others not at all. My advice on bios is to make it part of your routine, like maybe try to post at least one bio entry every RL week. There was a time when we had to be logged into the game to write a bio, which could sometimes be a challenge. Now, being able to write bios from outside the game (or even for past characters) gives a lot of flexibility to use bio in whatever way works best for you.

Back on the topic, I have a couple fully fleshed concepts in mind. I just want to check the new documentation of the clans, to make sure which one I am going to apply for.

I was considering a few character concepts and eventually settled on one. I'll look at the list of sponsored roles, but I doubt that I'll apply for one, because I don't think I play enough hours per week.

I've done my karma review. Now I just need to actually write up my sdesc/ldesc/background.
