Armageddon: Vices, Vanquishing and Victory.

Survive. Adapt. Conquer.
The desert remembers
Your choices write the next chapter
Survival demands sacrifice
Will you bend or break?
Your choices, your consequences, your legacy.

Not a suggestion but just a comment to add.. To me the Arm themes I am most attached to are: the mud's post apocalyptic desert, sorcerous stylings; the fact that it's permadeath and a survival game; and it's roleplay enforced.

Sul-Krath always rises.

Corruption, betrayal, revenge.  Just need to stop leading with murder really.

Corruption is great it gives criminals space to be naughty and drives continued low to medium stakes conflict.

Betrayal is still key I think.  It's not a big part of my play.  But it speaks to volatility and politics.

Murder is fine, but the point is not to lead with it. So what do we want to go with corruption and betrayal? Revenge! Perpetuate the cycle.

Gaslight, Girlboss, Gatekeep.

Armageddon: Blood, Sand, and Betrayal
Armageddon: Swords, Sorcery, and Shenanigans
Armageddon: Sand, Swords, and Sorcery
Armageddon: Dark Sun meets Dune
Armageddon: Desert Fun Beneath a Blood Red Sun
Armageddon: Silt, Sorcery, and Spice
Armageddon: Blood, Fury, Sand
Armageddon: Silt, Sand, and Silk
Armageddon: Where Roleplay and Writing collide
Armageddon: Fury, Silk, and Sorcery

Sand, Spice, Sid.
Stories Between The Sands.
The Desert Takes All.
Shade and Water.

Beneath a dying sun, legends will rise

I really like that..or something near it! Anything that doesn't have betrayal in the Tag line.

Armageddon, in a dying world how will you survive?
Armageddon, choose your path through the sun scorched wastes...

I don't know anything that doesn't scream 'hey be a dick because that's more important that rping a realistic character.' Thats how the old tag line read to me. I hated the old tag line. It need to be inviting but hint to the harsh nature of the game.

Armageddon: A world where embers of hope burn the hearts that hold them

Armageddon: Life alone above Truth, Fate ruling over Kings, and Deceit prior to Death

Ahem.  *movie trailer voice begins*

In a world of where despots and sorcery contend for the fear in your heart and  a sun-scorched wilderness strives to grind the meat from your bones comes a body of words in constant creation, collected collaboratively, shared competitively, and uniting under a banner of hopes and dreams that can suddenly churn into cries of elation, gasps of joy, and tears of loss.  Creation fights survival, stories are spun, weaved, and lost, and through all of it, the ever present sandstorm rages.

Armageddon:  Where your hopes rise and fall like Empires, your story swells and ebbs like winds, but only the sand remains.

Masks are the Armageddon equivalent of Ed Hardy shirts.

I was thinking about what makes the game compelling to me.  One is the harshness and desperation of the world.  One is the intrigue of how we all interact with one another.  And the last thing is the thing we don't talk much about which is the insane beauty in this game.  Like there are rooms out there that are breathtakingly beautiful in their description.  And there are clothes and jewelry designs as well.

With that in mind, here's a few ideas.  Someone else can probably do better.

Turmoil, Beauty, Intrigue

Ruin, Splendor, Power

The tagline has always advertise some of the game strengths. The game should continue to do so with making it sound like utter fantastical bullshit.

This would be my choice:

Corruption. Betrayal. Death.

But i agree this could work too:

Corruption. Betrayal. Survival.

Would add the line: Everyone dies under the harsh desert sun. Will you be remembered?

Without permadeath, and the excitment that comes from needing to watch your back even from your friend this game would not have been an exciting experience for everyone. Or that feeling of build up when you go into a mission where someone could die even due to npcs. You arent surviving or even living without death. Permadeath is what a important part of what makes this game special.

My vote would go to not having a tagline at all. I think we'd be better off without one.

I'd go with one of these inspired by Goosebumps book titles

How I Got My Shrunken Head
Let's Get Invisible
Egg Monsters From Yaroch
Bard Lessons Can Be Murder
The Dwarf That Ate Everyone
Why I'm Afraid of Elves

I always thought the tagline should reflect the gameworld actively playing out. An interesting opportunity with each season.

Armageddon Season 1:

"Shifting sands and strange skies"
"Tektolnes meat preview"
"No Muk No Cry"

I do kinda like the idea of changing seasonal taglines, they could be season/chapter related!

"Stories Scrawled in the Sand"

Much like sand art (or sand mandalas if you prefer), everything can come and go. Every experience in and of Armageddon is transitory and we should never forget it.

"Death, Disaster, and Darkness"

You could theme these by season. Coming back to read up on this season, I noticed there's a LOT of darkness/death suggestions vaguely mixed into events that happened, between the Tablelands, the Grey Forest, and so on until now. Going forward, staff could theme these in a way that's perhaps suggestive of whatever overarching plots they might have been focusing on for the season. Of course that doesn't prevent you from doing anything, but still.

"Apocalyptic Adventures Written in the Moments"

More general and welcoming to new people without much thought. It draws attention to one of the things which MUDs always captured to me and makes it so addictive but Armageddon did a unique job of. Any random moment might be death, but sometimes, because you burned the scrab meat you and another buddy nearly died for, a story exists. Whole stories exist as every moment actively, collaboratively written. Not truly planned, but just experienced and intricate by its very nature.

I propose: Treachery, Scarcity, Brutality

Within the unforgiving land of Zalanthas, what are you willing to do to survive?

Treachery is an defining theme of this world. This isn't a setting where you can trust easily or freely. Most people are often looking out for themselves, or their own selfish interests and will sell family into slavery to survive. Whether its your friends or your rulers, people will lie and will try to take advantage of you, those that don't are often fools that you'll take advantage of yourself.

Scarcity is often the driving force for many in this setting. The world faces severe scarcity of water, food, and metal. The setting is a desert where everything you need to survive is hard to get. This makes the divide between the haves and have nots even more grotesque. You can die from getting stuck outside the walls without enough water.

Brutality is the main pillar of the world. In this setting, being beaten within an inch of your life and being left naked in the desert is a form of mercy. Torture, slavery and other indignities are as common as the sand itself. The moment you step into the game, whether it be from a person or an animal your character may be brutalized physically, mentally, spiritually and will someday die under the brutal merciless sun.

Somewhere in the desert halfway to that black-stone Outpost, the spice began to take hold.

..., not even you will remember if we were good men or bad. All that will be remembered is that here, few stood against many.  All I ask,.. grant me revenge!

How do you make an Armageddon?
Take a finger of Conan mixed with one of Heavy Metal, with some bitter Dune, a dash of Game of Thrones, and garnished with a hint of Survivor.   Set if on fire and drink.
Its the kind of cocktail that becomes a one way trip.
Its the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fiiiiiine.

Because Halaster mentioned Bonkers on Discord it made me quote the theme song for the tagline if we can pay Dizzee Rascal the royalties.

Some people pay for thrills
But I get mine for free
Man, I'm just livin' my life
There's nothin' crazy about me

Bonkers

All I care about is sex and violence
A heavy bass line is my kind of silence
Everybody says that I got to get a grip
But I let sanity give me the slip
