What # character are you on?

Started by FantasyWriter, July 04, 2008, 06:15:17 AM

Wow, I feel like I play this game WAY to dangerously. Either that or I'm just very unlucky. I have well over 100....too lazy to look and make sure. I have been playing for about 5 years now. I have a few characters in there that lived for quite some time but the rest were short getting killed from anything from ritikki's too silt-horrors.
Respect. Responsibility. Compassion.

I'm on number 1 after about a week of playing.  ;D

PC #2 in a year and a half of play.

#5 in nearly two years. That sounds more like it now. :)

We're tied! Wanna have a race to thirty?

Okay, I'll be nice and let you get a head start. ;)

On second thought, that'd mean I'd have to suicide my uber-branched space vestric supreme overlord.  :-\ Of course, that'd mean I could play a PC with a -tad- less solo RP...

High fifties with 2 stores in 7 years or something.. I went through a phase of rinthers that lasted roughly a day when I first started the game. That prolly covers the first fifteen or so deaths.  ::)
A staff member sends you:
"Normally we don't see a <redacted> walk into a room full of <redacted> and start indiscriminately killing."

You send to staff:
"Welcome to Armageddon."

I think I'm on number 59. I started in '01, but stopped playing for about 4 years, only to come back and resume. So yeah, 59 in 4 years.

A glossy, black-shelled mantis says, in insectoid-accented sirihish,

Choose thy fate:

Once you get up into the twenties or thirties, do you remember all of the characters?  Does it get repetitive?

On #2 in a little over two years (with some pretty long breaks during that time).

I would imagine that the reason many folks have lots of characters is that a lot of them died after very little time in-game. So I believe that people will remember the characters who lived a long while and got a chance to develop, but the random rangers in between are probably just a blur  ;D

Of all my characters, I only remember 4 total. Including the one I am currently on.

You find a rusty, armed landmine and pick it up.

I'm currently on my longest lived character yet...

Doomed.

Everytime I notice my PT on a pc and go 'woot! he's survived a long time!' I meet the mantis head within weeks.

Sorry buddy.. you're fucked. Time to start fleshing out a new background!

Already done. I always keep at least three character concepts in storage and try to get excited about them to help maintain emotional stability if the worst should happen.  ;D

I personally have a ten day curse.  Upon the tenth day played, if I'm out and about, I will find some way to die, be it an insanely beasted out bamuk, or a clutch of mantis chilling outside the gates of 'nak.  The only way to stay alive for the tenth day, is to camp, if I avoid the tenth day curse I tend to live for quite a while afterward (by my standards at least)

I'm on 26 pc's now or so.

Any anniversary, major milestone, description change, or like situation is a day of extreme caution.

Once you've dodged Ginka's stalking sense of irony, you should be okay until the next time around.

I had a favorite, years-old character die nearly at the stroke of midnight on April Fools'.

I always seem to die immediatly after I write a long detailed e-mail to the imms, describing my next project and my character's motivation.
Now you're looking for the secret. But you won't find it because of course, you're not really looking. You don't really want to work it out. You want to be fooled.

74.

And some before they even started listing your past characters.

And some before you even needed an account to apply.

So probably over a hundred, in 14 years. I should look over all my old bios! Yikes! Sounds like a task.
