Carts and mounts

For those that have used them, is it worth the hassle of having to use mounts to pull carts around? Meaning, like, is it fun or just frustrating bullshit?

I thought the mechanics of getting the mount, harnessing it to the cart, and piloting it around was fun.

+1

Using a cart has always been fun. The hassle was getting one.

I liked having mounts part of it. It was interesting complexity that gave you a reason to keep a stable without any extra grind. Hooking them up was easy once you got the syntax. It also differentiated carts from proper wagons which was nice way to keep the cost of wagons high and rare without making it impossible for a commoner merchant to move a lot of stuff

I echo what everyone else said

Armageddon is best when it's actually harsh and brutal, not when we're only pretending that it is.

I got to interact a fair bit with carts and enjoyed it. The one thing that I feel is missing is that after hitching up the mount to the cart, the only way to move it is via pilot. Having the option to lead the mounts pulling the cart on foot would make it useable for elves as well.

I echo this want for change as well.  I had a city elf artisan out of Morin's Village (and then eventually Tuluk proper) who made carts and sold them, but I could never drive them around.  I really wanted a way to have a wagon train pulled by mounts, and I led them as an elf.   That's how it's written in the documents -> elves using pack mounts for heavy equipment.

You win Armageddon, congratulations!  Type 'credits', then store your character and make a new one

Yeah this would be awesome.

A bit of derail but whether with pack mounts or with other people, being unable to follow at your own speed really impacts group travel/RP with others. Even if you could lead an cart as an elf, you would need to make a heavy cart and mount run.  There is probably not an ideal solution to this but I would error on the side of more playability, with some benefits to following someone who can naturally travel faster vs just getting left behind. Taking to account some of the changes as a whole this season, this wouldn't feel OP or out of place either.

I think it was worth it for a lot of stuff, sure. But they should be able to follow an escort rather than yelling the direction every league. Or pursuers/escorts should be able to pursue/follow them to at least give them a chance to engage/board/guard.

So fun.  Also a gateway drug to skimming.

I think as long as the cart is small, it should be able to be led, but bigger carts would require more control of the animals.
