New MUD Client For ME!

Started by LauraMars, August 21, 2013, 01:02:13 PM

Wat. Every frikkin time I start the game till the time I finish playing its all logged. Not sure what else you could want. As for an "infobar" lol http://wiki.mudlet.org/w/Manual:Geyser

I want to be able to customize the folder the file is logged to as well as the file name.  It already seems to have dynamic dating, which is nice, but I want the date to be formatted according to US standards (month first, not day).  The logs also do not log input, which is another requirement of mine.

If I can do these things I'll give mudlet another look.
Child, child, if you come to this doomed house, what is to save you?

A voice whispers, "Read the tales upon the walls."

You mean the local echo? Hmmm
Yeah that's a problem
Varak:You tell the mangy, pointy-eared gortok, in sirihish: "What, girl? You say the sorceror-king has fallen down the well?"
Ghardoan:A pitiful voice rises from the well below, "I've fallen and I can't get up..."

Logging is the first feature I look for in a new client.  I've logged every character since I started playing in 2005, and I'm very careful and particular about how I organize that information.  If a client can't do what I want as far as logging goes, I'm not going to use it.

Again, it's too bad, because other than that mudlet seems like an outstanding app.  Definitely would recommend it to anybody who doesn't care about logs as much as I do.

For some reason the room exits keep getting cut off when using mudlet.

Example:

Caravan Road , S, W]

Its cutting off the [E

How do I fix this?

Looks like one of your triggers is interfering with that bit of output.

Force MXP compression off in the options. It may not be the fix but it can't hurt.

Tintin++ is the only client worthy of Armageddon's gritty atmosphere.

LauraMars,

mushclient has spell check. Delirium mentioned it earlier in the thread but you may have missed it.

Did you give it a try?

it's not the fancy pancy underline type of spellcheck, but it does alert you to misspelled words on hitting enter, iirc.

p.s.

Someone built a GUI mapper plugin for MUSHclient, however someone would likely need to make an Armageddon version of it.

There's a non-gui mapper in MUSHclient too, i've never used it but it does exist. Ctl+Alt+M

p.s.s.
glad to hear about folks using the infobar. hat tip to delirium for giving me the the 1st version of it in VBScript.

Yeah, I do use it a bit more now. I can't use the spell check on enter because I don't want to have to worry about combat commands/spells/whatever getting checked in high stress situations. Whenever I'm not sure about something in a scene though I'll highlight it and spell check it.  Not quite what I want, but it'll have to do for now.  Cmud's too clunky for me.
