Newbie Stuff?

Im floundering around...

Anywhere I can find a good amount of newbie info?

Where can I sell stuff like my boots and shirt in Allanak? or rocks I collect?

Are there any coded NPC or VNPC ways to get even a little coin?

Yes, and 'help jobs' as well as the Jobs page on the website, under general information, describes a few of them in detail.

First of all, try out the helper chat.  Seriously.  They can't answer everything, but they can answer a lot.  http://www.armageddon.org/intro/helpers.php

There are at least a couple merchants in the bazaar who will buy shirts and boots.  Rocks you collect are probably a harder sell.  See if there are PCs interested in them.

Mining obsidian and foraging for salt are the classic zero-talent ways of making money in Allanak.  They're pretty dangerous, especially now.  The sure-fire way of making money without dying is to collect dung.  Ask somebody in-game where the best place to sell it is.

You've already learnt the dangers of nasty PCs.  Don't linger unnecessarily in sparsely-populated sections of Allanak, or near lawless areas.  Don't go anywhere with strangers.  You will learn how and when to violate these rules later on.

I'm glad you're trying to stick it out (and give us another chance or few). :D

I am trying -

I am still sitting about for a few hours at a time watching that whole 'hunger' thing pop up :P

Really appreciate the few who have gone out of their way to give me a hand - in a not too charity like fashion.

Helper chat is your best friend. Keep it open while playing in a different window! Clicky link: http://www.armageddon.org/intro/helpers.php

I don't believe any helpers are actually online when I am - it simply tells me to leave a message.

Dung shoveling provides sids and ammunition for cheap, hilarious stunts, highly recommended.

It also makes you stink, as you might imagine. Shovel with care if you plan to impress a potential employer any time soon. Unless it's the Byn, in which case they'd embrace you as one of their own stinking brethren.

Check your skills list for employable abilities, and be sure to cross-reference with the help file on your class, as well, as there are some skills that everyone gets a little of (like forage or cooking) but not necessarily a lot of.

Then do a little brainstorming. If your character has talent in skill X, how can you turn that into bucks? I will give you a few examples, but it's really up to your imagination.

Rangers, merchants, and others who are good at foraging: go out into the wilderness and collect stuff! Salt, food, and raw crafting materials are often profitable.

Merchants and those with crafting skills: find someone who wants what you can make, then get a job making it for them. Military clans love armorers and weaponcrafters, by the way.

Warriors, fighters, assassins: find people who want extra muscle, and get them to pay you for your combat prowess. The T'zai Byn Mercenary Company is the great Zalanthan standby; each city has a military which usually at least hires humans; and noble houses and merchant houses almost always hire guards.

Assassins, burglars, pickpockets: spying is one of the oldest professions. If you have stealth skills, or perception skills, or are good at stealing items or picking locks, you can really leverage them in the spy game. Fast-talkers do very well here.

Burglars and pickpockets: burgle residences and pick pockets, respectively!

Just like in the IRL, unskilled labor like cotton-picking tends to pay very little. The big bucks are often in putting your character's skills to direct use, so let your class choice give you some direction on where to go for money.
