Do tattoos cover scars?

Started by creepyguy, May 28, 2010, 01:38:45 PM

If I have a scar on a location, then buy a tattoo for that same location, does the tattoo eliminate that scar?
Just curious before I possibly screw up my char's look.
Thanks

Scars also eliminate tattoos. So be wary of whips if you've got back tattoos.

But whips don't auto-give you scars?  So just tdesc the scars instead of putting them in codedly.

If you are whipped, you will be auto-gived scars.

Yes, being whipped does give scars on the back.

But only when using the whip command, not when in combat with them.
A gaunt, yellow-skinned gith shrieks in fear, and hauls ass.

Most curious.  I didn't think they did.  Learn something new every day.

They didn't for me. When my legionarre got whipped for breaking the rules.
I had to go to the add scars room, from a save/quit.

In my experience, you really need to whip the shit out of them to give them the scars. Doesn't mean you can't change locdesc to put some on yourself!

I would think that also, covering whip scars that you earned with tattoos and then pretending you never had them would not be a good idea...

whatever. it's OOC that people can see your back scars anyway through your shirt and your cloak, just because you aren't wearing a backpack. (or did they fix that?)

I think as long as they're wearing a "body" item, you can't see a back scar/tattoo by looking at them. But I believe there still is a bug that echoes the back tattoo when removing a worn-on-back item.
Squinting at the such-and-such dwarf, the so-and-so woman asks, in sirihish:
"You put jam in your peenee hole to keep from making baby juice?"

It's too bad noone was refering to that bug...  ::)

Next reboot the about/back issue will be resolved with covering and revealing scars/tattoos that shouldn't be covered/revealed.

I'm okay on my own.

Aww, I always kind of liked flashing my back tatts when taking off packs for sparring or whatever.
