The problem with being a PC

The problem with being a PC is that all you know is other PCs.  And they tend  to:
A) Die
B) Be offline

So, when you want to talk to someone you used to know and get information...you're SOL.  Even though you lived somewhere for 27 years.  Bah!

I can totally relate. One of my PCs (a walking plotline with my most awesome background ever) died because her boss didnt log in for weeks.

I try to have my PCs not so much rely on others, but sometimes it cant be helped, I guess.

I've had important plots delayed by PCs who wouldn't log in too. It's pretty crappy. Luckily it doesn't happen all that often (I can think of maybe once or twice and both a few PCs back), though when a PC you need to see is absent for two weeks or so it can get frustrating.

There are (usually) other PCs to hang out with, or you can try and make NPC friends, or just solo RP, or put stuff on hold. It sucks that usually plots can only advance when PCs involved can be online together, but I guess it can't be helped.

The problem with being a PC is that the NPC's never want to mudsex you, obviously.

Anonymous:  I mean... the concept of making one class completely dominating, and able to crush any other class after 5 days of power-playing, seems ridiculous to me.

If the PC you are waiting on isn't turning up, feel free to email their clan immortals. Sometimes if it's something that the clan has interests in, a NPC can be animate to take care of your issue.

Or, we'll ignore your email and mock your situation on the imm channel.
You give your towering mound of dung to the inordinately young-spirited Shalooonsh.
the inordinately young-spirited Shalooonsh sends:
"dude, how'd you know I was hungry and horny?"

Are you sure about that?

You do not have that item.

Ahh, now I understand what is happening with all emails I am sending.

What we're discussing is a problem, too, but not what I was originally commenting on.

My OOC problem is that a person who grew up and lived in a city, but is no longer there, doesn't know a single person he can contact over the Way to get some basic information about something.

So this doesn't have to do with clans, or plots...at least not any that I'm aware of/involved in.  It's just that VNPCs make lousy sources of even basic information.

Because of the generally short life-span of PCs, all if the IG friends I had are probably dead, and even if they are not, the chances of finding them online at the same time are pretty slim.

So that's my gripe...it's not something that can be solved, just something for me to gripe about.

Ironically, the absence of my chara's boss made my character begin initiating RP plots that I planned to do much MUCH later. Due to how dangerous and risky they are. Odds are, the chara will probably be severely kicked into the bum for starting things he's yet not ready to handle and all that due to chara's boss not being around to provide less dangerous plotlines.

I don't know, Morrolan. I think that's a perfect example of when the Immortals should step in and help provide for the REALITY of zalanthas.

ICly, your character would know at least a few people there. Sure, maybe they haven't heard much, but at least they exist. OOCly, you got nothing, though.

This, in my opinion, is the key function of immortals: lessening the difference between IC reality and coded restrictions.

Not even that sexy whip-toting whore in <a certain bar>?

I'm.. I'm so sad.

Oh, well, VNPCs are better lovers anyway.  What's more is they rarely bother you when you're actually playing the game.

My girlfriend said that I make her feel like a virtual girlfriend.  I laughed and told her to shut up because she didn't matter.

Tell her to get back in the kitchen where she belongs.
eeling YB, you think:
    "I can't believe I just said that."
