Change primary to Left?

It really isn't explainable why this has started to bug me.

Maybe it is hack and slash-ish?
Change
<primary hand>
<secondary hand>

To
<Left hand>
<Right hand>

Or even a
<Left hand-P>
<Right hand-S>

When a Pc is created it could tag on a P (for Primary) and S(for Secondary) that is only seen through the command of "eq." Which opens it up for left handed and right handed people.

Everyone else sees left or right. It doesn't make sense how people can tell if I am using my good hand or not.

Plausible?

Arm is evil.  And I love it.  It's like the softest, cuddliest, happy smelling teddy bear in the world, except it is stuffed with meth needles that inject you everytime

Makes sense, but I don't really see this as being worth the time for something so small.

May the fap be with you, always. ;D

edit: whoops.

anyway, it's so small an issue i dont see it worth the time to change.
A foreign presence contacts your mind.

Yeah, I can't imagine it'd be top priority, but the idea is super-neat and I like it.

Some people are left handed, others are right handed.  I don't really see the benefit of this change, and it could make things awkward with mantis and other many-armed creatures, perhaps.

Maybe42 has a good point that it doesn't make sense that you shouldn't be able to tell whether a weapon is in someone's primary hand or not, unless you knew they were right-handed or left-handed already.  Realistically, you'd see left or right, not primary and secondary.
So if you're tired of the same old story

It is absolutely not hard at all. It shouldn't take more than ten minutes, truthfully. All that needs to be changed is the message you get when you take the blade, the message others see when you do, and the message in the list of things you are wearing or using. The actual code wouldn't change at all.

I like it aswell.  Of course, I'm left handed so I'm always going to pick Left Handed because I like to fool you.

You win Armageddon, congratulations!  Type 'credits', then store your character and make a new one

How much do we get to play a mantis?
They can use a whole different set of words for each arm, if it is possible to seperate code from PC to PC.

As I said earlier, but didn't make myself clear enough, there could be two ways of handling it.
When you make your PC, you could pick left or right handed, or another possibility is to randomize it.

When you press "EQ," You will see a P next to your favored hand and an S next to the other. That way you know which hand is your favorite, and which hand is crippled.

Sure it Can be Rp'ed, definately. However, The Mona Lisa wasn't drawn by herself on a white background. It had a lot of little details that make the painting a lot better.

As someone who always makes a point of determining his characters' handedness upon creation, I'd like the change.
eeling YB, you think:

As I see it, this would have to be at least small bit harder then you think. Sure you could change all the instances of things that declare whether it is you primary or secondary hand but that wouldn't do anything but make every one right (or left) handed. there would also have to be a peice of code in the character creation that lets you decide which handedness you would like to be.

Also, as for the possible advantages IG (and I'm not certain of this) but I believe that in sword fighting you might get a small penalty when fighting a leftie (seeing as how most people would have normally been trained to figth right handed opponents). though of course that would most likely creat an influx of lefties into the world but thats why this is nothing but an idea.

In conclusion, I'm all for it, though there are plenty of things I'd -MUCH- rather see implemented rather then this.
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

You could easily have it display:

<right hand>
<left hand>

However, making it to the left hand acts like the primary hand is probably gonna take a little bit of tinkering.

Oh. Didn't realize there was supposed to be a choice of primary hand. Sorry. Yes, it would prolly be a tad harder, but just a tad.
