Peeking

Whenever I use the peek skill, it ALWAYS gives me the message, 'you do not see anything abnormal'. Why is this? Is it because I am too unskilled, or what?

Probably, yes.

You probably don't have the 'peek' skill.

You might have the steal skill, but not notice what people have.  You will have to watch them and notice where they put their items you want to steal.  You can -still- steal items from backpacks and still steal items off belts and off the ground and off from their inventories, but you can't know for sure they still have it.

Yeah, yeah.  I realized how silly it was just -after- i hit the 'submit' button.  Thanks for the warning, though.
