are plugins allowed? any recommendations?

just curious but are we allowed to use plugins such as ones that take HP & Max HP to give you health bar etc. (only asking as some muds prefer you not to) I also use seperate chat windows alot (redirecting ALL CHAT to another window) as I often have trouble keeping track of conversations. Once again I only ask as some muds don't like you doing that.

also are there any that people recommend as I deleted and reinstalled mushclient a while back and forgot where I got all my plugins.

many many thanks.

If it looks like it'll kill you, It probably will.

If it looks like it wont kill you, It'll still probably kill you

Plugins are generally allowed.  Things that give you more information, or present it differently, like infobar, time stamps, color, etc., are fine.

The only thing that's disallowed is botting.  I believe the official rule on that is that automated actions are permitted as long as they're used to enhance roleplay (ie using autowalk in order to type conversations during travel); using them to replace roleplay is forbidden.

I don't use it myself, but someone has set up a graphical infobar for MUSHClient. This thread may be what you're looking for:

The only things not allowed are triggers which automate actions in the game i.e. a Mekillot attacks you, and it instantly keys the flee command instead of yu having to type it, or a time setup to forage automatically for you. Spamwalking and aliases are fine. Triggers generally aren't, unless it's something that, say, brightens text so it helps you to read it better, or highlights certain words.

I could give a shit about wholesome.

so aslong as it either 1) requires input from me OR 2) doesn't send a command to the game it is acceptable?

Memetic:

Just so you know Spamwalking isn't actually "fine."  I think it's allowed by staff but a hotly debated practice among the players.

Triggers to automate some tasks are also ok, check this:

Be careful, err on the side of caution and only use them to create space for greater roleplay.

Using scripts and triggers in your client to automate frustrating tasks is ok, so long as it is to allow you more time to role play during them.  It is NOT ok to automate actions and walk away from the terminal, or otherwise stop interacting with the game except for your script/triggers.

http://gdb.armageddon.org/index.php/topic,43053.0.html

I use scripts/aliases/triggers to send commands to the game all the time.  For example, I have a sparring trigger that sends the disengage command when it sees "...stops attacking you!"

Stuff like that is fine.  It stays in the spirit of the game, and is really just working around the medium of the game.  Setting up a script to craft arrows to fill an order for 500 arrows is okay, as long as you sit there and emote and chat with the other crafters while you do it.  Setting up a script that has your character buy materials, craft items, and then sell those items, all while you're in another room playing Xbox, is a not okay.

Just because something is legal does not make it right.  But you can quickly search for threads on the debate.

Aheh. Lets try not to debate the morality off spam walking.
