Listen

Small lil' thing that irked me the first time I came across it but I've since navigated around rather than complain about. Seeing as Arm 2.0 is on the horizon, figured I'd toss this out there.

Listen status has a delay. Only way I know how to RP the listen command really, is just having my char focus on listening and being distracted in other matters depending on how intently he is listening. With that, listen status seems to me like a checking of my character's attention and really shouldn't delay him/her from doing anything. If you want to double-check your ears are still perked up (so to speak) a second before ducking out the door the current code-setup can make it awkward. Its more beneficial to forgo the listen status command as it is, and thus needs to be changed from my point of view.

Just use Listen On.

It won't turn off your listen, and doesn't have the delay that listen status does.

You win Armageddon, congratulations!  Type 'credits', then store your character and make a new one

But it also doesn't tell you if you are successful or not.  :-\

I don't always act superior... but when I do it's on the forums of a text-based game

Yes, it does.

If listen is currently on, it will echo back, "But you are already listening?"
If listen isn't on, it will echo back, "You now start listening"

Or whatever the game echos.  Mansa win.

That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I do that already. As it is listen status is pointless, wanted to make it have some applicable use.

Maybe listening could be on of the many toggles listed in 'stat'?

Sounds good to me.

Arm is evil.  And I love it.  It's like the softest, cuddliest, happy smelling teddy bear in the world, except it is stuffed with meth needles that inject you everytime
