Tried to make one, spent an hour on it. Got it just right. Repeatedly wouldn't save. Saved with every item overlapping, if it saved at all. Still can't find it.

I've had this problem a few times as well.. Your best bet to avoiding it is using http://ragemaker.net/, but if that doesn't cut it, well.. Rage legit :/

Oh yes. To be fair, though, I've never seen it result in death when my PC was innocent. Our templar players are pretty responsible with the odd, very rare exception. I've had a gemmed Viv who was arrested by mistake, once, being confused with someone else. The resulting chat in prison when templar finally saw her without hood was pretty fun.

Noble & Templar excesses in Allanak are definitely way less than they were when I started playing. Perhaps it's even gotten to the point that I'd like to see more of it (just not about bowing ;)).

would love to see less of templars forcing folks to bow, but when you don't bow and the other 99 guys in the room did, you kind of uhm... set yourself up for failure.

had a breed in the fist, that looked and was like. Blah another damn raptor. moves towards raptor. Only to start getting hammered by the duel wielding reptile badass. So quickly disarms it of both spears. Little scaled bag of surprises whips out a pair of swords. swear by the time it ran out of weapons had half of Salari's weapon's cache littering the sand. After dropping it another pc looked over and was like 'wtf, how many did it have?' or some such. I think for my first spec app, I wanna be a raptor!!!!

Sometimes I think I ought to just app completely ordinary people whose parents didn't die to a wind 'gicker or some crap, so that 80% of pcs I've never met before won't emote that they know all my thinks, says, feels and dreams when we first meet.

Also, when I die to an animal in the wilderness, even though I'm decked out and they're not particularly strong, because they got lucky and hit my wrist for stupid big damage.

I remember a scrab once disarmed someone, picked up their scimitar, and began beating them senseless with it. While I love stories like that and think they're awesome and hilarious, the victim in question or someone listening to it seemed to think it unrealistic for a scrab to do that.

I think the one thing that makes me rage in this game is guild-sniffers; its not that they force me to rebel or store because they decide my coded abilities should decide which division of the house I'm working in. Its not that they guild-sniff me and give that information to all their friends. Its not that they even guild-sniffed correctly or not or somewhere in between and then did all of the above. Its that they guild-sniff. Oh. My. God.

The main symptom of the syndrome is the warrior loses respect for authority figures and acts in a way that indicates they are better, more connected, and above reproach from any figure of authority including and up to templars, especially newly made authority PCs.

Don't get it.. who is pitching his desk over, the player of the 30 day warrior (ganked by NPCs backing up the soldier) or the power-mad soldier?

If it was gank-by-NPC, there needed to be another frame:

A half-giant soldier arrives from the north.
A muscular soldier arrives from the north.
A muscular soldier arrives from the east.
A muscular soldier arrives from the east.

The problem is after a while you just stop missing, and at that point it doesn't matter how high your wisdom is.

The average commoner still thinks that a squad of heavily armed Byn Troopers is a bunch of madmen for regularly leaving the gates, what're they gonna think of that unarmed robed grebber wandering out of the gates?

This one is still one of my favorite because it pretty much just happened on my last character.. I had such a detailed background story and goals for him, but when I came to write him up, I was like.. Ehh.. Screw it.

Yeah - I know the comics I've made might suggest a very poor way of going about character creation.  I am not really like that ;). 

But you've got to admit, sometimes you've been pretty stoked/heartbroken about that initial roll/reroll.  That all goes away after a while though: a poorly planned or unenjoyable concept is still crappy, even if you have crazy-good stats.  One time I stored a warrior after 4 days played, and he had 2 exceptionals and 2 VG's (or something along those lines).  Just hated him.

i've self-murdilated characters that I grew to despise. I once suicided a character because I loathed him that much. I regret doing it because his concept was awesome, but somebody said something and I went "fuck you guy you want to be all ooc in my ic, fuck you" and then fucked myself of a great character.

I once had a d-elf character with something along the lines of absolutely incredible strength and agility and very good wisdom and very good endurance.  This was maybe 2005 or 2006 or something?  It was my first d-elf and the play was fun for a good month or two, but I had picked a tribe that couldn't go anywhere outside their range and it had just gotten AWFUL.  There was a storyline going on but it was opposite the times I played.  Just me, roaming around by myself day in and day out.  I got it into my head that I would make the character stupidly bold, just so I could have an "accident."  I began exploring no-no danger zones... and literally nothing stood in her way.  She was a psychopathic juggernaut despite being a month old with no branched skills.  It was.... well... I didn't know if I wanted to punch myself in the face for rolling stats like that on a character I didn't actually want to play or for not going a different direction with the character. 

I finally ended up killing her, in the middle of a scene that I was actually ENJOYING.  Without getting into specifics, her death was so absolutely corny and hilarious that I remember her for the fun I had in her last 10 minutes more than I remember her for any other thing I did with her.

Five or six years ago, I had a gemmed Elkran that worked for an Oashi noble.

He had a really unusual background, having lived more or less in complete isolation for decades. He got ancient as fuck and decided, given his increasing decrepitude, he needed to live in a city where he didn't have to murder meks for food, so he packed his shit and headed for Allanak and took a gem.

He worked for Oash for a few RL months and hated it and the noble so goddamned much that he ended up killing himself. I'd considered ending him in spectacular fashion, like maybe taking a few nobles and a templar out with him, but it didn't make much sense for him to do.

Sometimes characters just reach their logical end, you know? As a player, it's hard to let go of a badass PC, especially a maxxed Elkran, but the satisfaction I got from ending his story appropriately felt good man.

Man, when I had my Templar, I answered so many complaints about theft with "so what" and "I don't give a fuck", and any attempts to describe characters involved in that shit with any super detail with "so he's a bald man with blue eyes? ok yeah that's great"

That caused some rage sometimes :)

It depends on what's going on. Being down to like 15 HPs and unable to do anything, in a chaotic situation, with no ability to bandage yourself, can be a bit nerve wracking. Especially when time is of the essence. But mostly because your life is on the line, and clearly Amos is wrestling with questions of opportunity costs. That said, at the time, it was more funny than rage inducing.
