This has become awfly frustrating to me... maybe someone can help me.
I was trying to sell something the other day to a merchant wandering around in the bazaar. There was more then one in the room, and I wanted to sell to the second one, but I couldn't find the command to, could someone help me out?
uppers.

offer (item) 2.merchant

or if they unique keywords, use the unique keyword.

offer sword Salarr
"I will give you 100000 sids for that."
barter

barter 2.merchant

or as specified

barter salarr

If you do those, Gilvar, you will get a negative response...you need to include a cash amount that you want for the item.

offer (item) (amount) (merchant's keyword)

For example:

offer sword 100 gangly
Quote from: MalifaxisWe need to listen to spawnloser.
Quote from: Reiterationspawnloser knows all

Quote from: SpoonA magicker is kind of like a mousetrap, the fear is the cheese. But this cheese has an AK47.

Edited because I was wrong! :)

I understand, Gilvar, but I played a merchant for a while and became quite familiar with the barter code.  When you supply a merchant name, you have to have an amount before the name or the first merchant in the room will think you're trying to offer an item for the other merchant (rather, for an amount that it doesn't understand code-wise).

Are you trying with 2 merchants who will buy the item, or with 1.merchant who does not buy the item, and 2.merchant who does?
Evolution ends when stupidity is no longer fatal."

Right on, Gilvar.  It has been nearly a year since I've dealt with this, but I do recall it being an issue for me at the time.

Um I just tested this as well in the game where there was two merchants in the room, and I was not able to sell anything to the second merchant unless I included the number of coins.  This may have been due to the second merchant not wanting to purchase what I offered, but it did not work without the coin number in the command.

Basically I did the following:

list
elf has X

list dwarf
dwarf has X to sell

offer item dwarf
You can only offer coins or an item.

offer item 100 dwarf
dwarf says I don't want that.

Hmm, I think it only works when you out the number of coins. I haven't tried it out yet, but I know it doesn't work when you only put:
offer bracelet 2.merchant
it goes back to the first merchant, which is annoying!
uppers.

Let's hear from Gesht on the matter.

Ah, I figured it out. Apparently I was wrong above, but it just looked right because both of my merchants had the same sdesc.

The apparent problem is that offering the item to 2.merchant is having the number be catched,

so offer sword 2.merchant is actually offering the sword at 2 sids.

Whereas when you do what spawnloser (who was right and I was wrong) and put the coins in, it won't catch the second number as a problem. So offer sword 100 2.merchant should work fine, as he said.

Sorry about the confusion.

Yeah, thanks, and that has happened bad to me before, I sold something worth a lot more then 2 sids... it made me made, but I suppose you could wish up, if you are lucky they might give it back to you.
uppers.
