Araqiel
Human
Played from 27 years old to 39
Stood 4 cords, 13 inches tall. Weighed 7 ten-stone.
Miscreant / Linguist
Born in Allanak, started play in Labyrinth.
Played for 30 days, 14 hours, 12 minutes.
Sdesc: the lithe, dreadlocked woman
Keywords: lithe dreadlocked woman Ari

Longest played and so much fun.  Went from a filthy burglar in Nak to part of the Garrison during a time when it was very active and full of some amazing folks.   She wound up being the ranking member of the Garrison before the attack by Allanak.  Think I had half the known world in my head telling me what I should do.

Got a last minute offer from a Northern military leader who told me that if I'd bring him several bricks of war spice, he would grant me a safe place to ride out the storm. Took that offer - and never has my RL heart beat as fast and hard as making that trip.

At the end of her life she was employed by the Guild, Kadius and had a side deal with a noble of Rennik.

Died to a combination of a glitch in crim code and my own stupidity.  But boy was she a lot of fun.

Quote from: Inks on October 12, 2023, 06:39:04 AMI played one for 2.7-2.8 RL years. When he died I was glad to be able to do something new to be honest and he died how I always imagined and hoped it happen, not falling/ Passing out drunk while logged in/ NPCs thankfully, so I was very satisfied with the death.

Days played around 140.

I took a lot of risks with him so I was very surprised he lived as long as he did. I hope some of you enjoyed interacting with him!

I never intended him to be a leader due to his rigid individualist personality, and the anarco-socialist nature of his clan was designed around listening to each other and freedom and individuality.

He detested Sorcerers and Slaver-Lords and those who served them.

There were a lot of good times, playing with those of you I played with.

You know who you are you diamonds. Kudos to you all over those years, there were some great adventures and battles.

I can't share any specific details for a long time due to game rules.

If I'm not mistaken, my personal longest PLAYED was a Laborer/Physician named Azhdaha who made it to rank Private in His Arm. Never even aged one year in-game, but I spent nearly 20 consecutive IRL days playing him during a time I was unemployed and basically living more on Zalanthas than I was on Earth. Will never forget hearing word later on after his death to a mekillot (back in 2022) that a templar attending his service recited words from a song he'd once sung to the robe while playing his dulcimer. Made up those lyrics on the spot, was pretty proud of 'em.

Deek Sasani

Started in the guild, then the Talons, ended as a blooded family member of a minor merchant house. It was quite the arch and quite the sad story I'll hopefully share soon. I really hope he enriched other player's stories.

starting sdesc: the dusky, black-haired teen
middle sdesc: The dusky, black-haired young man
ending sdesc: the dusky, messy-haired man

Started play in may of 2022
Played from minimum age into his early 30's.

Still alive and kicking despite constant rumors of the contrary, stored in December 2023.
Man, I LOVED watching Deek mature as different other PCs after Azh. Absolutely no regrets in the in-character sacrifice to ensure the recruit got out of that mekillot scuffle alive!
It's @CalmThyPalm everywhere.

These are the ones over 50 days played, -3 I don't wanna share, yet.

Danu - Stored - Human, merchant, 188+ days played.  Advisor Danu of Kurac.  Saw some shit.  This was before the time balance was adjusted.  Back then, one week was one month game-time, three weeks was a year.  Danu moved from being a worthless cast-off of the Larati tribe to a powerful, decrepit, politically terrifying corrupt grandfather in the over four decades of game time he was about.  Mentored several famous PCs including Half-Ear (Shatuka) and others.

Synoru - Stored - Lady Syn of Tenneshi.  Six RL months of agony.  My staff member was also playing, as her personal avatar, the head of the Lirathran Order in Tuluk.  She just wasn't interested in my PC so I got nowhere.  59 days played.

Vankolith - Dead, Warrior- Lieutenant Vanko of the Amber Wyverns.  Bastard Borsail, Hero and casualty of the Copper Wars.  86 days played.  Murdered by Tuluki forces: 247 to 1.  ("n;e;e;Order all kill Vanko").

Voresh – Dead – A tribal named Vo.  Groot.  Warrior/Nomad.  Liked the ladies.  And the men.  83 days played.  Bit it to 16 hidden tarantula.

Sneekeetoof – Dead.  Sunrunner. Warrior/scavenger.  Prancing Kalan.  Shattered Drum.  Sneakytooth.  152 days played.  Rantarri'd.

Kahuja – Dead – Died in Hall of the Ancients. (SHORTEST)

Maheejo – Dead.  Heejo. "Smiley". Alley rat.  Byn Sergeant.  Circus Co-Founder.  Atrium failure.  Borsail Slave.  Dark Moon Co-Founder.  161 days played.  Warrior/Slipknife.  PC murdered.

**** - Dead - Atuna Baja - Slave to the Murder Owl.  Tribal.  63 days played.  "Someone forces you to move east.  You scramble for purchase, you scramble for purchase, you scramble for purchase, you scramble for purchase, you land on your neck... "  Thanks, Someone.

Still on Break.

Faela
the sylphlike, azure-haired teen(womanm, eventually)
Played from 17 years old to 19
Stood 4 cords, 5 inches tall. Weighed 7 ten-stone.
Miscreant / Master_Tailor
Born in Labyrinth, started play in Labyrinth.
Played for 25 days, 2 hours, 17 minutes.

First part of House Kurac as an apprentice sandcloth crafter, conspired to have her Dealer executed when he told her she was nothing more to him than just some rinthi crafter (because she treated him like family, I think Aromit told me "hell hath no fury" in response to my report about all that going on). Become a blue, and eventually green rag of the Guild under the name "Seelie." Left Kurac, joined Kadius for almost a year before murdering Lamrale. Became a member of the Guild full-time instead of a double-agent, took the hit on Lamrale for her murder, eventually died trying to protect her Boss' back (Cards the Mul) from Tyr in the turf war of early 2022. Went out together.

She was a little emotionally unstable, but ultimately very fun character that got me thoroughly hooked into the game. What a way to lose my first PC that lived longer than 1 and 1/2 ooc weeks, after such an entertaining story.
My brain is constantly filled with the sound of elevator music, as the Gods intended.

In chronological order, leaving out the ones that probably no one remembers:

Mae Konviwedu, Seeker of Poets' Circle, played 28 days / aged 1 year. Started playing her right before the first Copper War in 2006. My second PC.

Chosen Lady Madelena Dasari, played 36 days / aged 2 years.

Sergeant Laila Makarim of the Arm of the Dragon, played 80 days / aged 7 years / 1 RL year. She was the aide to Red Robe Samos Rennik as well as a soldier.

Samira AKA Sukra of the Tan Muark, played 34 days / aged 3 years. Before the volcano dropped on the TM.

Baxt AKA Jozi, gemmed Whiran, played 15 days / aged 1 year.

Lady Ilsebet Oash, played 27 days / aged 2 years.

Quote from: Athapaxis on June 07, 2024, 05:10:07 PMAre we allowed to ask on here who played certain folks? There have been some who blew me away.  And so many, many questions.

One of the benefits of a seasonal approach to the game is that all the active storylines will end.  We will be able to speak about the characters we played and the interactions we had with others because they shouldn't have an impact on the new and upcoming storylines.

That being said, we want to preserve some discovery for players who haven't experienced it yet, so the rules about discussing magick and psionics are still active.  Not everybody is on the same game experience as everyone else, so we want to continue to keep some mystery for the unexperienced.

Just to clarify here -- Players/PCs will absolutely have an impact on new and upcoming storylines. I think what Talos meant to say is any active plots those PCs would have been a part of will have come to an end with the closing of a Season, so the impact of divulging secrets/motivations/stories will have far less of an impact than it did during our endless Sandbox Model.

My longest was Wyeth, AKA Brand, a Borsail Wyvern and later aide and advisor.  He started at 21 and I played him until he was 71, at which point he couldn't wield a sword or wear his armor.  At that point in the game it was getting hard to find anyone to sit and talk to, and there wasn't a lot else he could do anymore, so I asked staff to come up with a good way to end him.  I made a couple of suggestions but I don't actually know what finally happened.  I'd like to!  (Played for 261 days, 17 hours, 49 minutes.)

I had a lot of fun with Brand, got into a lot of plots.  He used to keep a proud score of the nobles he'd killed, helped kill, or helped destroy the careers of, but I don't remember the number exactly.  Think it was double digits though.  All of those plots were the work of more creative people, and I am grateful to all the players of the templars and Borsail nobles who thought them up!  He had a lot of good friends through his years, and he tried to tell their stories to anyone who would listen.

It's sort of ridiculous you can't wield a weapon at 71 in Arm. I really think the stat falloff needs to not be that insanely  steep.

I dunno. 70 is a King's Age and Zalanthas' median age is like ... 8.

I don't think I've had a PC age beyond a few years though. I should stop taking all those risks.

I disagreed with a lot of the stat falloffs, but when I provided real life examples of people who were not that bad off, staff pointed out that those people had probably not been close to death as often as Brand had.  I had to agree he had a pretty battered body.  His nobles gave him a lot of spice to keep him going as long as he did, and he had a writ from the templars allowing him to have it on him, so we had some roleplay around it.  It was sad the day he couldn't wield his sword though.  Broke his heart and mine too.

I remember Belly!  I played as Jalynn/Hawk/Freckles.  I don't think our PCs interacted directly much, though.  Playtimes perhaps.

I remember Belly too! I met him on Akrila and they had a fun barside chat. She said he's 'funny for a rinth rat' which I think might be the highest praise possible a fledgling atrium student could give to a rinther. :P I don't recall if they had much more interaction than that, but it was such a memorable conversation that the name jumped out at me.

Akrila quoted his advice of "Tell someone something /wrong/ confidently and they just can't wait to correct you." a few times IC, though you'll have to forgive me when I say I never attributed it to him.

This woman stands short, barely over four cords in height, and her frame
is gently rounded in a fashion which would indicate rarely missing a meal.
Her skin is pale and largely void of scars.  Her hair falls to the middle of
her back, a rich, vivid silver in color with a single streak of black
settled over each ear, the tousled locks an elegant mix of waves, curls, and
straight locks.  Her chin is pointed, jutting out a little in a defiant,
almost arrogant fashion, her mouth, a roseate pinkish hue, is naturally
shaped into a fitful, petulant downturn at either end.  Her eyes are a pale
silver-grey hue and fringed with thick dark lashes, overhung with thin,
arched brows.  Moving from one inch wide at the bottom to five inches at the
top, five horizontally pierced bone studs form a row up her chest, from just
above her heart to just below her delicately defined clavicles.  Almost as
though to highlight the overly delicate nature of her features, bone studs
have been pulled through several places on her face.  Her left nostril,
lower lip, two through her right eyebrow, two through her tongue.  Shards of
bone forming five piercings up the lobe of each ear, and the tragus of each
of her ears is also pierced twice, in addition to a single shard pulled
horizontally through the skin of the bridge of her nose between her eyes.

Initial Background : Aug 02, 2010
It was before dawn on Huegel, the 30th day of the Descending Sun
In the Year of Desert's Anger, year 36 of the 22nd Age
Ayani, or 'Nil', or 'Kruth', or any number of other names when it's
convenient for her was raised in Menos, the only child of farmers.  It was
when she was found sleeping one night, redacted
that she was packed up - to be sent off to Allanak.  Unfortunately, however,
things did not go as planned.  She herself doesn't remember it, but what
happened was her redacteding away.  She came to, just outside of Luir's
outpost, suddenly filled with dread at her own realization.  At only six
years old, she was left with a rather remarkable problem on her hands, and
nothing but fear in any direction she might turn.  It was there, however,
that she'd spend much of her life - until she was about twenty.  It was then
that she remanifested, purely on accident, of course - accidentally
doing redacted in her own self-defense during a barfight in the
tavern.  Of course, her antics resulted in another redacteding in order to
avoid being killed where she stood.  Of course, it was rumor of that very
incident which drew the attention of the master whiran to her, his own form
nearly perfected, his body slowly changing further and further to
'perfection'.  It was, in fact, after several years of study, exposure to
redacted, redacted, and eventually of various redacted, she found herself
alone - Kutai had finally left the world behind to live in Redacted.
Unsure what to do with herself, she's moved on, travelling to Allanak
to live as a grebber and hopefully hide her true nature.  Deeply social,
she moved immediately from her brief stints in Cenyr and Red Storm.
And now, there's nothing but to hope her gifts don't cost her her freedom
and all she works to build.

She started out in Allanak and wound up joining Kurac for a bit and then got into a shit load of shenanigans. More around Luirs and the Pah than elsewhere. She started with silver streaks in her black hair and ended with black streaks in her silver hair. Cantrip + premature greying.

1. They Who Shall Not Be Named (2010) - 43 days. No seriously, they're my worst PC. They're also the perfect manifestation of my ultimate cringe days. I don't know what I was thinking. If I could go back in time and shoot myself, I would.

2. Nori (2014 - 2015) - 51 days, 16 hours. Still cringe, I'd like to think she's a little less cringe than all my cringier PCs before. She was one of my faves only because of the circumstances she was pulled into during Tuluki closure. She was Levy Elder, Sun Legion Sergeant, Aide to Faithful Lord Hederai, turned terrorist. Had a kill list. Managed to kill off a few before her untimely death. Under orders, she was made to throw people (and VNPCs included) in jail for the Faithfuls. She died a disappointing death. I am sorry for everyone she disappointed with her lame death. I had such a blast playing her. Thank you to all the staff and players who made this memorable for me.

3. Quen (2015 - 2016) - 57 days, 16 hours. Made her because my previous character died to another player (a good death), and I needed a throwaway to feel better. Ended up becoming Byn Sergeant for 6 RL months. Died to a Kuraci contract involving a lot of mantis. She was a pickpocket/outlaw, so it's a wonder how she lasted that long. There was this Borsail noble who kept trying to hire the Byn to do the most ridiculous and death-inducing contracts (like take over the Mul Outpost), and she kept deflecting. She insulted a lot of people, and ran her mouth a lot. Like a lot. I'm surprised no one tried to actively kill her.

5. Glass (2022) - 37 days, 20 hours. Yeah, she's done... stuff. And also survived stuff. There is a lot of stuff happening with Glass.

Assuming memory is serving me right, I believe my character delivered a couch and a sealed note to Danu. Powerful and decrepit indeed, I remember being surprised at how nonchalant they seemed as they read the note before putting it away.
