My character totally kicked Zoltan's character's ass
I vaguely remember pounding on Zoltan's character's ass with mine, too.

Nah, MeT, yours was still too noob by the time we had no reason to ever spar again, of that I'm 99% certain. My guy's standard procedure was to use an off-hand weapon he wasn't trained with for every bout. I think I only ever sparred "all out" with very few characters. Synth is legit, however.  ;D

My dude never once tangled with Is Friday's (if it's the one I'm thinking of) ever, although his guy tried to arrange it. Hard. Unless it was some time at the Academy? If that's the case, then probably yes. However, I'm still pretty sure that your guy was out of the picture by then.  ??? Maybe you snuck in a Bynner there or something, I don't know. Every other long-liver eventually got ridiculously skilled, but I just never practiced with my guy. With all the shit going on, there just wasn't time. My uberness was mostly due to the others around me, the character's disposition and the scenario, it's true.

Pretty much every one of his sergeants were far better fighters than him as well. My guy just had the utter thirst for adventure and renown that drove him to do things I couldn't picture risking with even my previous branched, sekrit-super-powered magicker. One of my favorite games to play was what I called "The Wait." We would be in an insanely dangerous situation where coded action -may- be expedient, and I'd just... wait to see what happens. I think I drove some people batty with that. More likely, they just didn't know/care that I'd purposefully avoid typing >flee or >kill right away. Yeesh, I don't even know if I have the testicular fortitude to do that ever again. I was never afraid to die with that character, because his death was a totally necessary ending. Eventual storage would be... bleh.

My two regrets are that I inadvertently got Janus killed a day before his retirement (classic)...
Bahahahaha! So awesome.

Dude, it was literally a conversation we had IG. My guy decided to Real Talk (tm) with him, which was fairly rare, but my officer owed the guy for years of excellent service. It was probably the most blatantly dangerous contract I've been on with any character. Seeing Janus' body after coming so close to death himself caused one of the only pangs of sadness/guilt the guy ever got from a dead Bynner. (Not that he was heartless and didn't love his warband. Sudden death was just a reality of the mercenary life, and after coping with it very personally in his background, true mourning only came up a couple times IG.)

I was actually just making a gay joke. Re-read the quote. ;)

edit: And yeah, I don't brag about who that PC beat. He was a spec app with impossible stats/size/weight to achieve without spec apping.

I still think the best closure you get in Armageddon is just moving on to the next character.

A couple of Quick brags. I had a character that knew him pretty early.

Quick rescued me from an npc in the labyrinth. I then just stood there, looking for a dagger to help him. Quick complained I was the slowest motherfucker on the draw ever.

I saw Quick do something ridiculously magicky that was probably an unintentional typo. I suspect that this is before anyone really knew what he was. I pretended that I didn't see anything.

Also had a later character who got a 2k bounty placed on his head and then convinced Quick not to pursue him. I brought my problems to the northern templarate and was suprised when they all secretly knew who Quick was.
Now you're looking for the secret. But you won't find it because of course, you're not really looking. You don't really want to work it out. You want to be fooled.

I played Warlord Mallor Tor.

When Raul got the report that Mallor bit the dust, he had a bit of an "oh shit" moment. Mallor was tough-as-nails and really cool.  :-\
