I remember when I was relatively new imm for the Byn, sending them on some crazy expeditions.  One of them was an escort quest of a truly annoying northern woman that involved falling off the shield wall (of course), sandstorms, and being attacked by a mekillot, only to have a silt giant run in, punch the mekillot in the face, subdue it, and run off into the salt flats.  The northern woman made everything awful because she kept getting in harm's way.  I think Spoon's character was in that one.

I remember being on the edge of my seat, wondering if everyone was going to die.  The funny thing is, I don't think any of it (beside the silt giant) was really my fault...mostly.  They got into all that trouble all by themselves.

I remember taking the Contracts from her and having to strap her to the inix. Kudos Euk! I enjoyed those days of the byn  a lot.

Armageddon is best when it's actually harsh and brutal, not when we're only pretending that it is.

Hey I remember that, I think it was that woman.  The day I met the 'rinther Sarge...the day my kank died..  I had to quit at the wall though  :(.  The last time I've used ranger quit in a clan.  It felt too  not cool when I logged back in.

Heh, I remember when you could use ranger quit to quit in the Byn messhall.

Some guy logged back in there one day on Barani afternoon and emoted rolling out from underneath one of the tables.

This is the best post I have ever read.

I once had a Bynner who went on a desert trek with her unit and they got lost. When the water supplies ran out, thanks to a shifty elf, they cut open a half-breed who valiantly committed suicide by Byn squad and drank his blood.

Best and worst wilderness foray ever.

Well he -was- the low man on the totem and we were thirsty.

6. count them six pc deaths in under 2 months.

someone beat that! lol. im running out of idea's, lol.

Fyi: it's all misadventure. such as a mek walking way west of where it should have been, and eating my little pc with no mv to move.
I remember recruiting this Half elf girl. And IMMEDIATELY taking her out on a contract. Right as we go into this gith hole I tell her "Remember your training, and you'll be fine." and she goes "I have no training." Then she died

Gotta watch that stam, man.

Incidently, my brag is that my very first character was active and alive for like 8 RL months. *knew to watch his stamina points... didn't yet realize the deadly cocktail that is southern sandstorms and beetles of doom*

Tell me about it. If you do any sort of intense activity IRL you don't do it until you collapse from exhaustion. You do it until you're comfortably uncomfortable, tired but still well enough to rest and get at it again. Think about that when you get out there IG.

I love the players of this game.
That's not a random thought either.

I have a character who knocked out a half-giant in barehanded sparring.
He's human.

But they forced him to pull the giant off the mat afterwards.

I had a human PC knock someone out with an axe before. That happen very often?

As a complete newb (I'd love it if the player remembered this scene and could enlighten me about some parts I was hazy on in a PM) assasin I was leading some pro-super-sekrit-assassin guild in Tuluk and we needed a super-sekrit compound for planning super sekrit stuff in sekrit and I wayed up a nenyuk agent for a chat about apartments and a bottle of wine. After we finished the bottle of wine and he was good and drunk I broke it over his hand, smashed the bottle to make a knife and muscled him into hooking the noble sponsored group up with a few rooms free of charge.

It was probably a lot less awesome then I remember, but I was a blissfully ignorant newb in those days and everything, even the small stuff was gloriously awesome. I'm sitting at work and that old memory popped into my brain, it had to have been at least 6 or more years ago. I can't remember which agent it was, I just remember that afterwards he was always cracking his knuckles and I know raven was a word in his sdesc..

Happens fairly often with [certain types of] chopping-weapons welders.

Makes sense; it's easy enough to do in real life.
The sword is sharp, the spear is long,
The arrow swift, the Gate is strong.
The heart is bold that looks on gold;

I remember that. I was still such a newb and was the -other- escort who was retarded and didn't want to walk to her camp because I didn't actually know where it was. That northern chick was so damn irritating. I think at some point I said we should just leave her on the wall.

That was wild though. Didn't someone go partially crazy during all that? I just remember being a very confused and overwhelmed Seik.

I went with a bunch of my Kuraci pals, and some Kadians I think? *correct me if I'm wrong* To go face down a bahamet. That was fun. Especially when it decided to pick on my poor character and try to eat me alive. I think it was the first time my PC got some real sympathy for wounds from my companions.  ;D I still have that log lying around somewhere.

Yes, she was very annoying.  She was an npc, animated by me, and I played her to be as annoying as possible.  In fact, she was so annoying that I grew to hate her, and she was eaten by a monster on a later rpt.

I once had a noble (maybe templar?)  feel so sorry for my PC he actually bought my PC a whore  (literally, she was a PC and he called her over)

Was the 1st action Jaytarn had ever seen -- rough growing up as the only slave of a templar.

Once had a Fang raider, who didnt kill a single PC. But managed to ... buy the only weapon off a Salarri Corporal and then brain him with it (Who'd sell off their only weapon in the wilds? Even if close to the city). Enslave a Dune Stalker. Knock out countless of people and end up paying "them" money, because they'd be spying on merchant traffic for him. Always attacked people who for some reason hunted stilt lizards with skinning knives. Most of his raiding involved emotes. Where he would sneak in on a grebber and start emoting sounds, clicks and clacks, and gradual approach. Most of his victims then would either spam flee or emote it out. It was awesome.

Managed to somehow gain a reputation of some uber powerful magicker (was a ranger), get all of Salarr, a lot of militia and templars, and a shitton of gemmers chasing his ass. All that before he hit 5 days played. It was beautiful ... died to a twink.

I used to do my best to interrupt conversations/meetings/discussions of clan members at the worst possible moments (e.g., just got done dissing the boss, or just did  something really naughty, etc.).

I remember one particularly dicey and very, very weird situation about a year and a half ago in which a certain other staffer animated a certain GMH family member to give a lewd Way recounting of a hilarious back-story involving another GMH family member being mistaken for a whore in the dark.

Oh, good times.
