The best of the worst of realism ideas

Started by LindseyBalboa, August 06, 2021, 04:09:27 PM

This is for the best worst realism ideas. Such as:

-Slow down time to match RL time, 1:1. -1 hp dying that used to take 30 mins? It takes 3 RL days now.

-Introduce random chances of characters being created with chemical imbalances that cause panic attacks and other emotional issues.

-Make body hair grow and require shaving and hair cuts if you want consistency.

Because with the amount of abuse Bynners take daily, they would definitely all be god damn handicapped.

Dwarven stats are fine as they are. What's not okay is how they are often played.

I always assumed that the superhuman metabolism/healing zalanthans (especially npcs) have was some kind of genetic thing that was selected for over time because people who could heal faster didn't die and got to fuck more

For playability reasons it pretty much has to be that the extent of actual injury has to depend on context, not pure HP. So when your dwarf sparring partner gets a few heavy shots in and knocks you down to 40 HP, you're not really "heavily wounded" even though that's what the text says. The idea that Zalanthans are all literally Wolverine is a funny alternative but a bit much.

Many muds have locational damage, and it's both fun and cripplingly debilitating.
