That feeling when you realize you're stuck with another deeply stupid character

Is any consideration being given to allowing some way to mitigate this? For example, adjust starting rolls down slightly but give the player 1 point he can assign to a stat of his choosing.

Or maybe allow the player to elect a tighter stat distribution with all stats hovering around above average.

Can't hurt to send in a request asking to swap two stat values, but I have a feeling they're gonna say: prioritize wisdom next time.

I thought this was going to be an entirely different thread.

I understand what you mean, but sometimes you'd just rather play a fairly average character rather than seemingly ending up with one that's crippled in one way or another most of the time.

We've all had characters where we were unhappy with the stat rolls, it's part of the game eh?
"When I was a fighting man, the kettle-drums they beat;
The people scattered gold-dust before my horse's feet;
But now I am a great king, the people hound my track
With poison in my wine-cup, and daggers at my back."

All you have to do is Red Shirt.  What is your characters fatal flaw?  Maybe they love to climb, but are terrible at it, or they are always the first to check the cave...ect.  Think of your own, these can be really humorous to play out though, especially if you have an audience.

Playing a red shirt is awesome. Roll up a pickpocket, merchant or burglar, join a fighting clan, don't bother to train too much but always be there for the fighting. Woo yeah. No one respects me when I do that.

It adds variety. Your great stat roll would  be worthless if everyone had it.
