Lately I've bee playing a bit of witcher 3 after I've been Mudding. But some days, I look at the machine, and graphic gaming just seems  so empty.

I remember once explaining to a friend how a true RPG wouldn't exist in graphics until we had a virtual reality to play it in.  The traditional RPG can't match the acting, the politics, and the actual living-in of a character like Arm does.

It should be our number 1 selling point.  Stop selling sandboxes.  Stop selling momentous changes.  Sell the fact that in this game, you get to -be- your character.  You can, I think, live vicariously through your characters with an ease on arm that is not matched anywhere else.

You're so right! I've been reading this book, An Actor Prepares, and I find so much of it applies to running a character.

I love you Armageddon. You continue to challenge and intrigue me.

Incidentally, I also love our playerbase! YOU GUYS ROCK!!! You're the life blood and the heartbeat and without our combined powahz the game would be emptier than witcher 3.

Sometimes, I go on Shamchat or Omegle and I pretend to be various deranged characters and haphazardly start screaming bastardized versions of the lore of Armageddon, and it seems to get people interested.
The story of Armageddon rules enough that just hearing about some of the hilariously amazing things draws folks in.

Thank you Arm for letting me get away with throwing my crippled, imperfect, often deranged creations into a world to live. And oftentimes surprising me when one of them not just survives, but -Thrives- in Zalanthas.

Thank you Arm for those characters that roll good stats and suck at stuff at first. And gradually become a beast of nearly anything, thank you for showing me that stats domt matter that much until other things, large things come into play with it.

Also that butt clenching things too thanks for that.

Thank you, Armageddon, for creating some of the most lasting friendships I've had (IRL), creating some of the most intense drama, bullshit, and adrenaline rushes (IRL and IC), and getting me through some rough times.

What that unbearable jerk said.

I already posted but I'm coming back.

Thank you Armageddon for constantly making me laugh out loud over the craziest crap.

Thank you Armageddon for helping me on occasion just break down and cry about something like how perfect for my character their death was.

Thank you Armageddon for making it where I actually say things like "I should have QUIT DIE then, it'd have been so damn romantic."

Thank you Armageddon for being something I like so much I complain about parts of is constantly, which I tend to do about things I care about.

Thank you Armageddon for that childish glee in beating a skeet senseless.
All I see turns to brown, as the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand, as I scan this wasted land
Trying to find, trying to find where I've been.

Thank you Arm community for keeping long-running jokes going that make NO SENSE to anyone outside of this game.

No one else knows why sandwiches are funny.

Thank you Armageddon for helping me meet some amazing motherfuckers and fatherfuckers.

Thank you Armageddon for giving a community who sticks close and cares.

Thank you Armageddon for giving all of us who are so distant from friends and family of any kind something to do on holidays.

And most of all, thank you for giving us a way to feel joy even when our real lives are bleak.

This community means a lot to me, and while all of you may not like me, you are always here, waiting with clever wit and brilliant thoughts to brighten the days that need it.
Yes. Read the thread if you want, or skip to page 7 and be dismissive.

Yay.

I love and hate that my characters' IC responses to things that mean so much to them can affect me so deeply as to ruin my entire fucking night OOCly. It's not that often I get so invested in something.

What is honor compared to a woman's love? ...Wind and words. Wind and words. We are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love. That is our great glory, and our great tragedy.

I love that you people play the people that my people suddenly hate...then grow to love...the hate with a burning passion...then tolerate.  And you play them so damn well!

The quality of your role-play is simply stunning.  Thank you for putting in the effort that you do and making this world as real as it is.

P.S. Someone who is really tech savvy find a way to make everyone who ever considered playing an RP game (our RP game, of course) read this thread.  Our player base will double.

Nice boots, btw.

I love when I mean to create a boring-ish throwaway character in between my 'Real' Pc's,  and they -immediately- get yanked into random fun, crazy shit that pretty much forces me to play the PC out to the end.

This.

And I love you, arm, for allowing my wacky creations to not only live, but thrife.
Try to be the gem in each other's shit.

Worth resurrecting this thread and this snippet in particular.

Thank you Armageddon for giving us such a wonderful, expertly crafted game.

Thank you to the staff and players who make it such an incredible place to spend time. For the commitment, love, care, and devotion.

Oooh, I missed this thread. Joy of the res...

Thank you, Arm, for giving me an outlet for my inner maniac. If not for you, I probably would have been on the evening news, armed with a head full of hallucinogens and a sword, laying waste to the county courthouse.

Also, for bone swordz and all of the lovers, friends, enemies, and the ever-enjoyable gift of being oppressed by an ancient totalitarian state.
We were somewhere near the Shield Wall, on the edge of the Red Desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

can confirm, I gave up playing EVE online altogether after committing 9+ years to it, so that I could have more time to play this text game.

I went the way of PvP in eve, and unfortunately, it hit a point where you'd spend hours looking for the good fights.  Sometimes you'd find them, sometimes you'd find disappointment, but overall, I too found the couple hour investment more worth it on Arm, even if I accomplish nothing.  You're just always contributing even by just looking for things to do.

Armageddon, you's my only friend. (Along with Abba-Zaba)
