Options for Playing in Different Locale: What Players are Doing

I was just sort of curious what's happening with players. When Tuluk closed, even though it was to lighten the staff load, part of that was that is consolidated players. Allanak's the new main central hub. I was curious if people were routinely sticking to there, or varying where they play. If they're sticking to it, is it hard to avoid characters/situations that are familiar? What's the reasoning in staying? If they are going out and making PCs in a variety of areas, do they feel like that's a good option, without feeling like they're solo RPing all the time?

Feel free to elaborate on your answers, but remember that you cannot explicitly speak about PCs less then a RL year old, and you should not hint at what you are playing now, or where you are playing. For our intents and purposes, we're just talking about general experiences.

As of February 2017, I no longer play Armageddon.

I'm fine with playing in Allanak, Red Storm, Luir's. In fact, I haven't played a PC based in Tuluk or Morin's since long before the Tuluk-closing HRPT. And the PC I was playing right at the time it closed, was based somewhere "beyond the Known" and not in any major city/outpost. So I'm good with that too.

I want to say it depends on my inspiration, and it sort of does, but I often end up getting bored of non-Nakki PCs.

Cant speak of my first char yet. next year april!

However.

It really depends on what im feeling, though i've made lots of nakki chars since tuluk closed.

I've played a few PCs out of Red Storm, when Allanak grows a little tiresome. Rangers do wonders for my 'blow off steam' sort of play style.

I consider the Rinth a completely different zone from Allanak. My rinthers have never crossed paths with any former lives and I view it as an escape.
That beauty and truth should pass utterly

Without the rinth or Storm I wouldn't play. The only time I truly enjoyed Tuluk was during the closing down plot. If it was like that all the time I would have played a lot there. Was basically Ravenloft.

I do worry sometimes that there's a lack of a city-based alternative for the next PC.  That was one positive to Tuluk at least: it allowed you to roll with a fresh city-based PC with fresh staff and fresh players.

I don't know if it's that big of deal, however.

I'm curious: Is the Guild part of the Southern Staffing Team or the Independents Team?

Tuluk was my least favorite in general, but it was my favorite for unmanifested gickers.

The Guild is actually part of the GMH team.

I feel like this gives them a mandate to start making merchandise.

Don't you know?  The Guild is a respected mercantile organization trading in the most sought after commodities on Zalanthas - murder, corruption and betrayal.
Child, child, if you come to this doomed house, what is to save you?

A voice whispers, "Read the tales upon the walls."

Ha!  +1
At your table, the XXXXXXXX templar says in sirihish, echoing:
"Everyone is SAFE in His Walls."

If we condense the poll a little, with the current votes (33) we get:

Make a new PC in 'Nak or hope they end up in 'Nak:     24.1%
Some sort of rotation:     24.3%
Depends on inspiration:     24.2%
Avoid Allanak:      6.1%
Old asses who haven't died:     21.2%

Remember that the poll is not necessary indicative of the whole playerbase, because only people who read the GDB are responding, so bear that in mind when analyzing.
