Container Numbers Changing

Started by Darmon, February 25, 2015, 02:32:18 PM

If you have three containers in a room and you put an item into the second container or 2.container, does that always then become the first container? Also it seems to be the same with containers in your inventory?

Just that I try to organize things in a room with containers and it gets confusing because the container numbers are always changing and they have the same names, i.e. chest.

Any helpful tips on how to keep these number changes straight?

Use an ldesc for dropped containers, like "drop chest Stuffed into the corner, ~ is filled with whatever". Then they won't move except for reboots, where they shift into a backwards set. So 1 becomes 4, 3 becomes 2, etc.

Masks are the Armageddon equivalent of Ed Hardy shirts.

Riev beat me.

Containers in your inventory will always move like that though.

Another trick is to use different container types along with the 'arrange' command to sort stuff. So you might have a room like this:

A mekillot-carved chest is here, holding electronics equipment.
A gwoshi-carved chest is here, holding candy.
A panda-carved chest is here, holding pandas.
A spider-carved chest is here, holding dead PCs.

That way you can use panda.chest to get one of your panda bears, rather than having to worry about the item number.

I knew there was a way to use multiple keywords. You rock.

Just wondering when PANDA's became part of Zalanthas.

Lies all lies there was nothing about pandas there. But Zalanthian pandas must be great!

Gwoshis are the closest we have to bears, I'm pretty sure.
