Gems

From the Gems helpfile: http://www.armageddon.org/help/view/Gems

It only lists the gems but it doesn't list where in the Known there are found. Is this too IC or can it posted here?

Thank you.

What kind of specifics are you looking for?

All but Onyx, obsidian, jade, quartz, and amber.  I know there those are found but not those new gems.

Since that info doesn't seem to be in the documentation, that'd probably be considered IC information.  :-/

Gems can be found inside of rocks and sometimes pockets.

Yeah, but why is it for the stone help file?  It has locations.

Stone is big, common, found in many places. Gems are small and super rare.

DUH.  Thanks guys.

Sorry I'm not much help.  I think it'd be cool if the help files had vague language indicating where one might start looking for gems.

It's alright.  And I do agree with you.

paying attention to room descriptions is usually a big help. I think if something along those lines could be added to the help files it'd give people a valuable clue on what to do differently.

"Gemstones are usually found where there are plentiful areas of exposed rock or stone, and are very difficult to find in areas that are covered in plantlife (scrub, grass) or sand dunes."

Apparently rare enough that NPCs don't want them?  Then again, most of the populace on Zalanthas are in abject poverty.

There are npcs that want them. Good luck getting to them before other people do! Your best bet with gems is to try to find a PC who wants to buy them (interaction and mercantilism) and try to sell to them!
