The History of Tuluk and Magick

The following post is mostly directed toward newer players who have found themselves wondering exactly why there is no magick at all allowed in Tuluk.  This was not always the case as you may or may not have gathered from the discussion board thus far.

Also, I hope you appreciate this as the relaying of suck secret IC information may cost me my account.

Once, in Tuluk, you could see everything from haflings, elementalist, free mulish raiders and even the occasional mantis, eventually the game steers more toward RP and reality (Zalanthan, not Terran). But even after Tuluk became a ICly rich city of art and culture, one could still find the occasional elementalist, until there came a time of quadruplet brothers who all became circle bards (and all, in secret, Elementalist, one each of Vivadu, Suk-Krath, Ruk and Whira).  These four brothers eventually decided that it was time to reveal their true selves to the world and thus, an RPT was scheduled. All of north had gathered in the center of Old Tuluk, and traders, tribals, and even a few southerners. People have come from all over the Know world to witness the promised spectacle of the four brothers' performance.  As a special OOC treat, the four players of the brothers had gotten together to film a RL version of the performance on a sound-stage complete with special effects.  (You have to remember this was long before YouTube, and streaming video tech was far behind where it is now.) And after all had be gathered, (more than an hour past the scheduled time) the performance began.

Amid the performance, The Sun-King Muk Utep appeared in all of His Magnificent Glory, and as it ended he stepped toward the brothers and using the great powers of mind that all of his long years and deep study had granted him, he banished the four brothers to far corners of the Known, for their performance had shown not a single grain of sand of talent that had be promised throughout the year of preparation that had preceded.

Having been angered by their shame and exile, the four brothers gathered in an unknown and distance location, and there they remained, and there they searched deep in themselves and one another until their magicks became great and terrible to behold and together they attacked the Ivory city until it was laid waste.  Whatever fate befell the Four Brothers after that is unknown to me, and alas it was long before I started playing the game and I do not have a log to offer, but I have been able to obtain a copy of the video created by the players for your viewing plesure. I do hope you many see it and pass it around before this post is deleted. Been nice knowing you all!

Please read this book if you haven't already, Eyes like Sky and Coal and Moonlight. I bought it last summer, read it, enjoyed it thoroughly. Lore yourself something fierce and support your fellow players.

Look at the amazon preview "click "look inside!" and scroll to the beginnings of the first story titled the same as the book, at the least. For those of you who are new to the GDB and the ridiculous snark and silliness that is endemic to it, I plead in particular that you take a peek.
