Muk Utep's Ivory City is looking for a templar to serve!  However, the templarate is not like you may remember it.

All templars in-game will be dressed in a manner influenced by these concept art submissions from our talented playerbase.  Over the course of the week, these will be going in on all templar NPCs; bear with us while we apply these in-game.  Once that is done, it will be formally presented in-game alongside some other things.

A brief primer for the uninitiated:
Shoulder-clasped capes denote the rank of the templar.  If the cape is white but trimmed in red, that's a templar.  If it is red and trimmed in white, that's a High Templar.  Ranks higher than that are usually going to be red with variations on the trim, but that would be better to discover in-game.
The armored headdress is a symbol of the caste as well as functional armor.
A weighted silk pectoral might also be used as a symbol of the templarate.

This image (rendered by James de Monet) is probably the closest visual approximation of all of these in one view, though the in-game content is only based on this, not a direct representation of it:

In general, the templarate uniforms are more tribally-influenced than not and will adhere more closely to the Tuluki Fashion documentation.  There are other pieces to the uniforms, but these are the most important things that might be noted by a Tuluki.

Additionally, there is no more Jihaen Order or Lirathan Order.  Those were dissolved by Muk Utep Himself in front of thousands at the Tuluki Arena.  If you are applying for a female templar, your female templar is a former Lirathan, not a current one.  If you are applying for a male templar, your male templar is a former Jihaen, not a current one.  In both cases, your last few years have been spent in training in what you already did plus the things your previously competing Order did.  Both sexes will be involved in utilizing the Legion.  Both sexes will be involved in management of shadow artists.  There is no more divide along gender lines.

Finally, we've updated the documentation for Tuluk (the "What You Know About Tuluk" page), roleplay in the city, and the Tuluki Templarate / Legions to reflect IC changes to the city, some evolution of Tuluki culture over time, and also what we consider to be an important OOC decision.  Changes to these docs can be discussed here.  This should help you in crafting your role application.  We also have additional documentation (nearly ten thousand words of it) for players that are accepted into the role to further flesh out the character.

What do we need?

  • name of the character + former noble house (you would've left this House at an early age; your House of origin really only affects your appearance)
  • sdesc of the character
  • mdesc of the character
  • a brief background on personality/etc., using publicly available documentation and the chronology page to craft this
  • a brief explanation of ideas and plans you have for the character your familiarity with Tuluk
  • your typical playtimes (both time of day and how often; we tend to expect a minimum of regular playtime so as to interact with the playerbase)
  • your agreement to adhere to the requirements for sponsored roles

Please submit this information as a Role Application in the Request Tool by 11:59 PM Eastern time on Sunday, February 23.  Thanks!
