1. What are the various encumbrance levels?

2. When setting mood, do people typically put in one word "angry," "calm," "in love" whatever or something like "really angry that he lost at kruth last night and nursing a hangover?"

TIA

Edited by Nyr to move back to General Discussion!  ;)

I can't access the game currently so hopefully someone else can chime in with the encumbrance levels, but from a staff perspective feel free to use mood however you like. We have a command that shows us everyone's moods, which is kinda nifty! Most people's tend to be one word.

I may have forgotten one, but off the top of my head:

very light
no problem
light
easily manageable
manageable
heavy, but manageable
very heavy
VERY heavy
extremely heavy
unbelievably heavy

Moved this back to General Discussion.  If you're not a new player (i.e., you have karma, you have been playing a long time, etc.) you can ask your stuff here.  I know you put it here initially, but I'm clarifying for everyone else. :)

Encumbrance levels are:

QuoteVery Light
No Problem
Light
Easily Manageable
Manageable
Heavy, but Manageable
Very Heavy
VERY heavy
Extremely heavy
Unbelievably heavy

I'll find out if there's a place this should be in a helpfile.  It's on the forums in a few spots.  I think that it's accurate.

As for mood, the helpfile makes it pretty clear by offering some "bad examples."  Here you go!

QuoteChange Mood                                                          (Mental)

Your character's mood is a persistent feeling describing your character's
general state of mind.  This is intended to be a role play tool to help you
be mindful of your character's moods and use them in your depiction of your
character.
Syntax:
   change mood <mood>
change mood

Example:
   > change mood very happy
You are very happy.

> change mood depressed
You are depressed.

> change mood
Resetting your mood to a neutral state.

Bad Examples:
> change mood suicidal because I love my best friend's girlfriend
(Don't include why, just the mood)

> change mood lost in a sad reverie, remembering those happy days
from long ago, when gwoshi ruled the earth.
(No exposition, just the mood)

Notes:
Your mood will stay until you change it again.  There are a few mood
altering affects in the game that will reset your mood, including
fighting.  You will need to reset your mood after fighting to set it
back.

To prevent people from setting a mood and having it never change, your
mood will always reset back to neutral when you enter the game.

You can see what your current mood is with the 'stat' command.  You
can also use the %O option in prompt to show your mood there.

Cool, thanks.   Didn't think to look at mood helpfile - dunno why.
Did try my GDB search chops on encumbrance - but since I suck, couldn't find anything.

I had difficulty trying to find it, too.  I found a few instances where people had it misspelled, others were missing categories.  I'll want to check and make sure that's right, but in general, I do believe that's correct for the encumbrance levels...and if we didn't want them to be public, we'd have removed them from the GDB.

(I can't think of a reason not to have it in a helpfile at this time, but finding the right helpfile to slot it into will be key.  Maybe...encumbrance?)

I think that it might be good to have some cross-referencing, or multiple keywords that reference the same help file:

encumbrance
weight
load

and then a definite cross-reference to either stat or score (whichever of those two tell you what your encumbrance is), and then another cross-reference to whichever is -not- the one that tells you what your encumbrance is (because people such as myself can never remember which is which so having a link to both is helpful).
