Coming back into the game.

I am and will be coming back into the game in the next few weeks and was wondering if there has been any changes that I need to know about, I know there are IG stuff that cannot be discussed but what I am referring to is stuff like out of char, code etc stuff that might have changed. It has been at least a year since I played at any length so if anything has happened since then please let me know it would be a huge help, thanks.

I don't always play muds, but when I do.. it's something ridiculously opaque and has the learning curve of a chinese instrument from 600 BC.

Depends on how long you've been gone.

I've come to the conclusion that relaxing is not the lack of doing anything, but doing something that comes easily to you.

About a RL year or so. It has been a while :D

I haven't even been playing for a year, but I think the biggest change people will probably tell you about is the new Quit OOC command, which has a help file!
(It just lets you Quit OOC anywhere, provided you give an explanation. There's an understanding that you won't abuse it, etc.etc.)

Also something about subguilds? I'm sure someone has a link to the discussion thread for that, but since they changed the GDB around like two weeks ago I can't actually find anything.

Elves are totally cool now. You should go salting with the first one you meet.
I have learned that one can, in fact, typo to death.

People now get a chance to attack fleeing opponents (avoidable by having a high flee skill) and mercy flee or mercy on can be used to forgoe those attacks.

Vennant doesn't appear to age because he serves drinks at the speed of light. Now you know why there's no delay on the buy code in the Gaj.

There are now extended subguilds, but until the new code base goes in you have to send in a request for them. I haven't played one, but I have read about them and they look pretty neat. Check out the help files http://www.armageddon.org/help/view.php?name=Extended%20Subguilds to learn more. Also, the help files have received a face lift and soon the whole site will have one. There was a recent player-staff meeting that was transcribed and is available in the staff boards for your viewing if you are interested in such.
Choppin muthafuckaz up with mandibles since 1995.

Cool cool, seems like things are only getting better. I remember back oh 5-10 years ago when none of this stuff would have been possible due to code limitations and tech limitations. I can't wait to start spending a little bit of time here again, though I need to balance it with the rest of my life unlike I did 10 years ago when I could do 12 hrs straight without stopping except to eat and bio, ah those where the good old days. Now I could not even think of doing something like that due to my age and attention span not being what it was back then. Now I have a hard time watching a 30 min show on tv without changing the channel as soon as a commercial comes one.
