Seems okay now.

I still think the best closure you get in Armageddon is just moving on to the next character.

Didn't we already have the same lag issue several months ago and then it went away suddenly?  ???

Yep.

We had similar issues 6 months ago and they moved us to a different, newer, faster server with more RAM.

A few weeks ago the issues came back after we had a strange outage where the server was stuck then just came back up with less RAM than we had, but still more than we are paying for.

They have responded to the ticket by increasing our I/O priority and increasing our 'lockpages' due to an error they were seeing in the logs.  I still need to get back to them and tell them it hasn't helped.  (Sorry, it's Father's Day weekend, and I'm not able to concentrate on it)

Today seems a lot better.

It gets worse with more people online, it seems. I'm noticing small spikes at the moment. nothing like yesterday.

There's the lag monster again!
Sometimes, severity is the price we pay for greatness

The malevolent entity know as lag rears its ugly head.

Did several traces, they all look the same. Only bumps are my router and when trying to resolve the game's IP.

Tuluk, stop having fun, you're ruining this for everyone.  ;)

It is taking me whole minutes to move from one room to the next.

Right about now I'm struggling just to log out. Good thing I'm not standing in front of a large hungry insect.

And there was some dwarf smoking spice, and I thought that was so scandalous because I'd only been playing in 'nak.

Woooooooooooooooooooooow! Talk about ruining all the fun.

getting HEAVY lag at this point, a minute or two before "choose thy fate" comes up, gonna disconnect so i'm not putting commands into it, and hopefully this lag will clear up, im gonna try to let people know if I see the lag has mostly cleared up, do post on here about it if you come on too and find that's it's substantially less lagged

Did I say Firaga? Because I meant Blizzaga. Because that shit is...

...frozen.

This is awesome. My screen saver comes on in between the commands I input.

I just thought of something. How about the game force sends "stop" to everyone when it starts detecting this shit coming? There were signs before the inevitable total-hang, lots of slowing. I could queue up a command, it just waited to go. I could do... 3 commands. Then, three were sent. Groups of actions were taking place. In between groupings of 4-5 simeultaneously presented actions, there were 20-30 second gaps.

this would give an imm the ability, if watching this unfold, to force send a universal "stop" command to all PCs.

Then, the imm could force-send "save" to everyone, and then "quit" to everyone as well. Then, it could reboot, there being no more commands effectively queued for all pcs. Reboot.

Just an idea.

The burning sun rises high into the sky, searing the earth.

In game time is still going.

Yup, sure is pretty.
