Forage question

Is a pearl considered a "stone" or an "artifact"? This is a problem of my character knows what he's looking for and I don't as the player.

Pretty sure it's a stone. Artifacts are things that were made before, IE: Knives, weapons, old armor, pottery.

Yeah, if you want to find pearls, you have to be in the right place and 'forage artifacts.'
