Hum... where are you?

Having never played a diku in which humming "things" existed before, I just assumed this was a feature of Armageddon. Pretty disappointing to learn that it's a "relic." It fit in with the whole thing of the things in general actually, and the change to make them noticeable even makes sense, given the thing of the things.

Seems like the thread veered off the topic freeway for a while there. Oh well...

Perhaps those who are wearing enough "humming" equipment and are "hidden" should be more noticable?

I struggle to think of a reason that they should remain perfectly hidden if they are emitting a noticable hum.

Thoughts?

Quote08/26/2010: Enough humming items in equip and inventory will be quite noticeable by others -- Tiernan

I thought this quote directly solved your concern, unless I'm reading it wrong?

Also, who is Tiernan? What is aTimelord? ???

Tiernan is the Ascended Master of the Weather Code, if I ain't mistook.
The sword is sharp, the spear is long,
The arrow swift, the Gate is strong.
The heart is bold that looks on gold;
The dwarves no more shall suffer wrong.

Let's just say that Tiernan has been around a long, long, LONG, LONG time.

And while humming (and glowing) objects are technically a "relic" feature of stock Diku, they appear quite different in Armageddon MUD than they do in stock Diku, which hints that perhaps it's one of the few elements that the staff thought worth keeping?

Also, a Timelord is a character from the Doctor Who series.

I'd suspect that this is the basis for Tiernan's by-line.

Just some neat FYI.

I hope I was never on that female list   >:(

Since I am not one.

Oh. I always assume liberal use of emoticons = female.

In that case, you're definitely off the gay crush list, man.

:(

I originally thought this was a role call for the Hlum...
