An infinite loop is a loop that does not end.  In this case we were looking for foragable items of an appropriate rarity for the zone someone was in.  It didn't find any, but instead of stop looking it kept looking for rarity of 'none'.  Instead of stopping when it got to rarity of 'none'.

... So I'm going to dumb it down for myself here for a sec and make sure I understand.

You did a forage search for an item rarity: x?

Or you foraged and it went through rarities x, y, z for an item, and when it hit x, it kept -looking-? So the game locked up trying to find an item of rarity x and wouldn't stop looking for that item?

It kept looking to find something which didn't exist, as far as I can tell.

I couldn't connect either for a few minutes (kept kicking me out mid-way), but now I seem to be able to again..

It's weird because I'm currently connected and playing but just tried to switch computer and I can't connect with my other computer which is like five inches from the one I'm currently using.
