Arm's Staff is Great

The staff here at Arm is, far and away, the most mature, competent, dedicated, professional and unbiased I've ever run into running a game of any sort online, ever. It is part of why I have played here since I was a wee lad of 17 years. To give that perspective, I am currently 25. While I've taken breaks, I've never felt a need to do more than glance at other MUDs in the meantime because of how great they've made this place.

All I do to enjoy this game as I have - which is, in a word, immensely - is read the docs and roleplay, roleplay, roleplay without expecting excess flowers, fanfare, or mercy directed my way in this world that is short on resources and often shorter on patience for the dim-witted. I am patient and understand that the staff, which is not paid to be here but still work constantly to make this place enjoyable for others, often have lives of their own and are not at my beck and call, waiting to inquire as to how high I would like them to jump.

What's funny is, although I've played here for eight years (or perhaps more, I'm not sure - 17 was a rough guess), there are no shortage of people who have played this game for much, much longer than me. But forget players for a moment, because there are characters out there on Arm that, over the course of their lifetimes, had or have been played for time equivalent to significant portions of a real life year - certainly longer than it takes a tiny handful of self-important players unwanted and unloved by our community here to come and go. You've heard of characters that are 20-day, or 30-day, or 40-day. Stop and think for a moment, because that is time equivalent to a full month spent without stopping to eat, sleep, work, say hi to momma, wank, or kiss your loved ones, doing nothing but playing ArmageddonMUD. And there have been countless numbers of these characters in Arm's very long history. The rarer ones have twice that amount of time played, but there are characters that have gone well past even that into triple-digits, and there are no doubt some in the game there or approaching it, because they love Armageddon. Yes, this game is that good, and this game is that addictive.

And frankly, the staff deserve no shortage of credit for that. Neither do the players that play around you.

Don't forget to give your kudos, people.

You try and snap the tall, muscular man's neck but fumble and snap your own!

Welcome to Armageddon!  '(mantishead)

The staff here do a good job.  I've been very impressed with the effort that has been put into game areas, storylines, and npc scripts.  They also are good about giving feedback on apps and are continuously working on improving the game world for free.  If anything, my gripes about this game are related to the staff taking it too seriously.  ;D. Although, they are probably doing something right because it's very rare to come across bad roleplaying in this game.

Kudo them  ;)

And on that note, I think this thread has served its purpose.
