Giving Thanks, for Arm

Started by deviant storm, November 26, 2009, 03:44:33 PM

It's Thanksgiving today, here. And in my household, on Thanksgiving every person names a few things they are thankful for when we sit down to our big turkey day meal. Now that it's over and I'm suffering from too much of a good thing, I thought I'd extend that idea to Arm.

I'm thankful for Imms who put in countless hours to work in game, with or against players in whatever fashion bringing the game to it's own 'life'.

I'm thankful for various clans' comraderie and easy banter between characters, giving depths to the relationship between these characters we roleplay.

I'm thankful for people taking time out to help new people 'get' Arm in one fashion or another. Some of those new people turn out to be pretty good roleplayers in their own right and add a bit to the game once they understand.

I'm thankful for all the builders and staff working diligently on Arm2, so that someday it will come to pass.

I'm thankful for the bits of humor, purposeful or accidental, the game gives us.

I'm thankful for the chance to slide into this other environment and immerse myself in Arm.

That's it for me, for now. Feel free to add your own. Remember this is to be a positive thread. I would appreciate it if no one slipped in any veiled snide remarks, etc, and ruined the impact of what I'm trying to achieve here.

Thank you, and Happy Thanksgiving.

I have already emailed in my Turkey Day thanks, but needless to say, I am deeply grateful for Armageddon and all the people who make it work. I'm stuck in bed all day due to chronic pain, and escaping to this world never fails to make things just a little bit more bearable.

Thank you to the devoted staff (who have done so much for me over the years, even when I've been a true PITA), to the excellent players I interact with every day, and to new folks who decide to contribute their personal creativity to Zalanthas.

ArmageddonMUD has brought some wonderful, amazing people into my life, and for that, I certainly have reason to give thanks.

Furthermore, I would like to give thanks for the staff, both present and past, who have upheld the standards and traditions of the game for over a decade.  Having ran a MUD myself, I know to a certain degree what a chore it can be, and for them to volunteer so much time to the game and the community...  Well, I think that deserves some appreciation.

I am thankful for the people who play this game.  All of you.  While we sometimes bicker like a dysfunctional family, we all share one thing in common: we are sadistic and/or masochistic escapists.  ;D

There's really nothing wrong with a pretty boy in a dress.

Thanks ArmageddonMUD and everyone involved. Thousands and thousands of hours of great entertainment and fun times.

Thanks Armageddon ... for saving me God only knows how much money that would have been spent trying to entertain myself at bars or wherever else.

You're like a free vacation  8)
