Movement emotes, i.e. n (limping heavily)

Started by Northlander, May 27, 2009, 03:01:05 PM

I love these things. But do they work when I'm riding?

They do.

The only thing (AFAIK) that doesn't work in movement emotes is targeting things, i.e. n (waving to ~tall)

You're a well of information. Not a Zalanthan one, an Earth one.

Thanks again.

Also, a little known fact: If someone is following you you can add a second, third, fourth, etc. number of emotes in parenthesis for each target following you and they will emote those things while moving.  I -think- this works for each individual target, but I haven't tried it in a while.  Try it out and see how it works.  Remember though, don't power emote.

south (strutting like a pimp)(throwing rose pedals)(clearing a templar's path)

Strutting like a pimp, you walk south.

The Club [N]:
Lots of people are here.

The scantly-clad woman has arrived from the north, throwing rose pedals.
The shirtless, muscular man has arrived from the north, clearing a templar's path.

Many people in the club look in your direction, drawn by your awesomeness, and begin to grovel.

Grebber - One who grebs.

Interestingly, this "feature" of the walk-emotes system is, I think, an unintended bug.  Please do not use it to emote for PCs following you (NPCs is fine, if you're already in control of them).

Hey, that has to be the most epic bug since the parry "bug."

Great feature. Let me add a question:

If I do

n (limping heavily

i.e. save my fingers from the final parenthesis, will it still echo? I'm lazy with a bad keyboard set to dvorak so I like doing this with regular emotes.

Indeed, it will.

This is the case for the closing bracket on all command emotes, unless you're doing a double-bracketed split emote such as "remove (unlacing it) bracer [shaking out his arm afterward]."

In that case, only the last closing bracket can be removed.

A lot of people hate getting randomly PK'ed

Thank you! Off topic, I love double-bracketed split emotes but it isn't easy to say.

Do these work when entering and leaving objects?

I'm pretty sure they don't, unfortunately.

The following commands allow both pre and post emotes:

         arrange          close            drink            drop
         eat              ep               es               etwo
         flee             get              give             hitch
         hold             junk             look             open
         pack             palm             remove           rest
         rs               rp               rtwo             sip
         sit              sleep            slip             stand
         taste            unhitch          unpack           wake

The following commands allow only pre emotes:

         say              shout            sing             talk
         tell             whisper

The following commands allow only post emotes:

         down             east             north            south
         up               west

Note lack of enter and leave. :(

So every genius wagon/hut/mudsex-dungeon-leaving emote I've meticulously crafted has just... just disappeared into the ether?

NOOOOOOOOOooooooo.......

Why don't these echo to -me- but echo to other people?
