You know you are addicted to Arm when ...

The last thing you remember in your dream is spending time looking for a quit-safe room and finding one.  :D

When you are waiting in line for fast food because you have been craving it since you started cooking other peoples requests. While you are in line you think why aren't I on arm? Then immediately leave line, go home , and log on without eating at all.

When you get up and go to the bathroom and glance at the clock, then wonder where the other 6 hours of your day went and why you feel so hungry, then realize that you've been playing for that long without a break. Then cottonmouth insues, because you were playing for 6 hours and didn't even bother to get up and get a drink. So then you run to the closest fast food joint, get something quick through the drive thru, and hurry back home so you can log back on while you eat.

Fast food is too slow. :D

Fast food is convenient, but not always as "fast" as some locals can be.

your mother is an elf.

I woke up earlier than normal today on my own.

My first thought: I can no longer sleep without nourishment.

this summer I was at 2 pots of coffee a day. I figured I needed to cut back. After weeks of withdrawal and all that I finally started really cutting back. It took two months to be off coffee and onto caffeinated tea. Then from there I went to herbal. It has been 2 months of that then I just went right back to drinking coffee again. Now I am back to 6 cups in the morning.

You almost/could have died 3 times this morning because you were falling asleep at the computer, twice for over 1hour time. For some reason I kept convincing myself I needed to stay on and continue playing.

Damn you painkillers!
A staff member sends you:
"Normally we don't see a <redacted> walk into a room full of <redacted> and start indiscriminately killing."

You send to staff:
"Welcome to Armageddon."

When you log in to your character and start pointing at walls in the Hall of Kings...

Then log out later the same night with 10 hours played.

My eyes.  They burn.

Is it possible to play Armageddon and not being addicted to it? I had to stop because it was affecting my personal life and my work. I thought it might be me and maybe some other type of person can keep it under control. Is it?
There is a peculiar pleasure in riding out into the unknown -
a pleasure which no second journey on the same trail ever affords.

It's very possible.  My rule is that the moment the game starts interfering with the commitments I've made at any time before I started playing again, I log out and take a mental step back to consider my priorities.  Works every time.

when I was skipping work and whatnot for WOW I quit. When I was ready to come back to it I told myself that wow had to be the bottom of the priority list. So if a friend asked me if I wanted to watch paint dry I would have to accept it over wow. it worked too.

Play a casual character. A lone ranger. Someone who has few friends, sleeps with random people, and rides off into the sunset. Only addictive part about the game is when you're trying to work with others.

Clans can give stat bonuses and penalties, too. The Byn drop in wisdom is particularly notorious.

And you call yourself an armer... you're dead to me. Dead.

When you think to yourself porn? or Arm....

and arm wins (hands down) every time.

When, while bored, you look at your husband, for the tenth time today, and say, "Hey baby, do you have any roleplay tips? Wasn't <too IC> fun? When re we gonna log on again together?"

When, at being asked how your day went, you reply: "<character name> did blah blah blah. I hung out and had a few cigarettes. When <too IC> happened to <character name>, I almost had a heart-attack, but she was totally cool with it."

Except me. I remember every death. And I am coming for you bastards.

When traces of your MUD client imbed into your monitor through screen burn.

When you come home from a day at the office to sit at your laptop and work on clan updates/emails for hours.

... srsly? I just did that? I am fucking nuts.

When you find yourself getting a bit drunk during intense and/or emotional moments in your character's life so you can better portray how they are... sober.

when your sitting in class and you cant find your pencil and the first thing you do is blame those damn hooligan elves.
