Real funny.

To you sneaky types. Locking the doors of abandoned homes without an alternate route of escape is -exceptionally- frustrating.

It's fine, and fun, if you're shaking somebody down.

Otherwise you're just being an ooc ass. To spend hours (days) jimmying locks, smashing handles, charging doors and shouting onto a busy street simply strains my suspension of disbelief.

I know; wish up.  Well sometimes those good folks are busy.

Cheers.

shout (pounding at the janitor's closet door, in a nasally voice) Real funny guys! Come on guys! Let me out!

I guess I'll go ahead and put out the stock response on this one this time around;

'Please don't post complaints on the GDB against other players or recent IG events. Instead, use the player request tool to submit a complaint for the staff to look into it.'

You may perhaps be misinterpreting a bug that happens with certain doorways, where you can go in, but then you can't go out. In that situation, it's best to Way up a friend, ask them to come open the door, and NOT enter the room.

You may also be overlooking alternate routes of escape.

Also, sometimes if you quit in one of those places where the door was meant to be locked, and the game crashes, the door will be locked. No one at fault there if that's the case.

Edit to add: Sometimes some doors that shouldn't, close and lock on their own. They're crazy. Not trying to discount your claim, but you might be looking at this and thinking of the worst possible case.

Completely forgot about those fun little spots. That's another good point.

My apologies to all you sneaky types.

I retract my earlier disdain.

Door -was- bugged.

Thanks for the advice.

Door -was- bugged.

I don't know if this always works, but in some cases if you open and close a door before going through it, it will align both sides of the door to one of the two states: locked or unlocked.  Sometimes it will lock the door and sometimes it will unlock the locked door.

So... if you close an open door, then try to open it but find it locked then you probably just saved yourself from getting locked in an abandoned building.

I've gotten locked in the Allanaki prison so much. It's ridiculous >.>

Kudos to staff for providing amusing reasons to let me out, though. There's a good reason the jailer's a half-giant, and not because he's big. He makes such a perfect scapegoat.
