What age did you start playing Armageddon?

Started by Vessol, July 09, 2008, 09:10:41 PM

I started playing about 2 weeks ago.

At the age of 26.

I have been mudding or playing some form of text based game since Trade Wars and BBS's back in the day.  Man, trade wars was so awesome...

Anyway, I was more of a player-killer type mud oriented person back then.  Now, roleplay is more appealing.

Seventeen. A week ago.

I've MUDded for a few years though. RPI'd since like 15, 16.

17.

....shit it's been SIX YEARS?!

Running after Carru, catching them, then eating them while they are still breathing is a Red Fang's version of 'fast food'.

I believe I was 16...

Yeah, it was late '99 when I found Arm, that puts me at 16, then.

It was so long ago... I don't remember exactly.  Somewhere in the range of 14 - 15 years old, since I'd been playing a while before I got my first job.  I was mudding long before that and I think I even applied for a character here and got approved before I actually settled in... I was really turned off by the application process.  I mean... every OTHER mud let me create out of the box, why did I have to wait for some snarky immortal to say my guy was good enough to run around leveling up?  I think I just deleted that approval email when it finally came, laughed, then hacked some slashing.  I started moving more and more towards "roleplaying" muds, getting hooked on Oblivion's rendition of the rolemaster system and "light" character play.  When it went down, PF and Gaz brought me over here.  Thanks guys.

I'm 27 now, and this game gave me gray hairs.  Thanks again.
Tryin' to make friends but people are jerks,
So I'm gonna put some fleas on you.
And the fleas'll have the plague,
And they'll make you cough a lot,
Then you'll be too sick to hurt my feelings anymore.

You are all so young!   :(
I started playing a few years ago when I was 54.
I saw an article about MUDs and thought, "This could be me."

Hell yea!  That gives me hope I'll still be playing then.

Only 31 years to go.

I was 12, actually - 18 now.

-18?

How did you manage that?
I tripped and Fale down my stairs. Drink milk and you'll grow Uaptal. I know this guy from the state of Tenneshi. This house will go up Borsail tomorrow. I gave my book to him Nenyuk it back again. I hired this guy golfing to Kadius around for a while.

You find a rusty, armed landmine and pick it up.

Kronibus drug me into it at the ripe age of 24. ;)

You know you've raised a nerd when your five year old answers the question "Do you know what gymnastics are?" with "Dungeons and Dragons?"

lol Looking for something to tide you over?

For another game?

Heheh. Give it a week...When Fallout 3 comes out, you are going to be using it to hold you over when Arm just happens to be down.

Once you start the Arm, every other game really kind of loses its luster in a BIG way.

You will still be able to enjoy them for what they are, but there will always be a voice in your head comparing it to how it really doesnt stand up to Arm in "this" or "that" way.

So very true. My friends are annoyed that I compare every game they got on their kick ass consoles and computers to Arm in some way or another (and Arm usually comes out on top).

Hehe, make one PC for them and get them to start playing, they will never turn back.

For two years I sat around playing Arm with Forest Junkie and Mudder saying this...."I cant believe you are playing that stupid game again."..."It doesnt even have any damn pictures, that has to be boring."

I got them to each make one PC, they have been playing ever since...That was years ago.
