How to greet an inix

Started by Kill4Free, July 08, 2008, 05:06:52 AM

Ill just post this to enlighten anyone who hasnt been in this situation before.

Saying "hi inix" instead of hitch inix, doesnt actually greet him.  If you want to greet him, I suggest an emote, or a tell, such as

"tell inix (while stroking him on the top of the head) Hi good fellow"

or perhaps an emote

"emote After greeting ~inix, @ steps forwards and grabs the reins"

Typing hi inix on the other hand, tries to kill him, and generally they fight back.
And if you have the misfortune to type hi inix in the city, and actually survive long enough to escape, the guards will then attempt to kill your inix.  Generally he is more then a match for a single guard, so he will take one down with him..., so, should this happen, DO NOT try to sell the guards items.

So instead of actually greeting the inix in a situation like that, you might find yourself with a dead mount, and in jail.

:D
May God have mercy on my foes, because I wont.

Enlightening words. We should all learn from this encounter.

Welcome to Armageddon!

Sorry, but my favorite is still kissing templars or others by accident.

Or someone I know who foolishly put 'k' as an alias for kill, you know who you are ;).

Probably one of the funniest things, when I was still learning to use keywords for multiple objects. I had a black scimitar and I decided to emote 'fingering' it(as in rubbing my fingers down it, yes a bad word to use), but there was a black-skinned man who walked in just before and sat near me. SO I ended up the man fingers the black-skinned man, he then emotes swatting my hand away, I foolishly press it again(being the confused newbie I am). Finally I realize what I'm doing wrong and apologize OOCly.

Wrong keywords can cause many awkward emotes.

Eying the tall, muscular man dispassionately, you slowly trims your fingernails with the rugged, jade-eyed woman.

I don't know about anyone else, but my current character usually greets an inix with a polite handshake. I feel anything more intimate would require at -least- dinner and drinks first.

I once played a character with the word 'rugged' in his sdesc. Along with a certain militia officer, he started a bar brawl, swinging on anyone he felt like. The guy who I was brawling with didn't realize that a certain southern templar had come in until it was too late. Whoops!

Edited for a stupid typo.
