Weekly maintenance usually takes place Wednesday mornings for a short period of time (30 minutes or less).

If you've played long enough, you might even remember where there was a playing queue and how frustrating that could be when you lost link in a precarious situation during some kind of HRPT and knew that you'd be waiting for a good 30 minutes trying to get back into the game with the hope that your character was still alive and well.
