Who wants family! Close, extended, whatever works. Doesn't mean they'll be close, or even have to like one another, this is not an offer for a best friend/instant ally! Half-siblings, cousins, aunts/uncles. The possibilities are open.

Humans only.. Unless you want to be the half-breed freak who would be the unacknowledged, diseased branch of the family tree.

This could work for a PC just being apped, or even existing. Give some feeling of depth to your PC!

Seriously, he's not too horrible and unfun, and family roleplay is good. Maybe I am bluffing and don't know him at all, maybe I'm not. Still, families are good. More families, PK one of them and it stirs up so much sweet conflict.
