Bug...

Is it a bug that the soldiers guarding the vineyard in Tuluk will go one room away from it to IK you?  It doesn't seem right to me... but what do I know?
Back from a long retirement

Insta-Kill, maybe?  Only thing that makes sense with the rest of the wine, pun intended.

I don't know about Insta-Kill, but soldiers will sometimes come out a room from their station to subdue someone that is wanted. I've had this happen in the past with my PCs.

I'm not sure exactly why they'd attack instead of doing their subdue routine, but weird stuff happens with the crim-code.

On a personal note: I see people, constantly, sit one room away from NPCs, ignoring the fact that there are NPCs there (not pointing you out Roe). In the last few days, I've seen magickers casting one room away, floating one room away, floating in the same room as NPCs as well as fugitives/criminals resting one room away from soldier NPCs. Yes, I know that it's hard to judge distance, because different rooms are different sizes and represent varying distances. But if you can do do a "look east" and see NPCs over there, it's very likely than can do a "look west" and see you.

ack to retirement for the school year.

Well, they didn't kill me, and I've passed by there a few times lately (I.E. within the past fifteen minutes at the least)

I noticed with my last criminal death that my character resisted a subdue attempt and was instantly attacked (I think the NPC attacker even got an extra round of attacks) by the subduer (no subdue delay), and two NPCs that rushed in from other rooms and attacked instantly.  It all went down in exactly one long string of combat, then *beep*.

If you plan to commit crimes in either city-state, you better be no-saved.
