Change to warriors? Wtf.

A stamina penalty based on your skill was added to bash, kick, and disarm.

We're further mutilating warriors.  God.  rangers become more and more rigged by the day.  I haven't seen anything done to them negative -- well -- ever but they do seem to keep getting more and more positive abilities added, while warriors get cut down further and further into a state of being unable to play.  My major concern with this is for Delves.  Mount riding peoples can kick bash disarm their way to hell, then mount a kank, voila FLEE!  While a desert elf would kick disarm bash -- boom you're out of mv, and you're dead.  Which was already a problem with the runners in the first place.  Movement...hmm what about stun?  That's a fabulous way to limit use, without completely fucking a player.  But yeah I usually approve of of staff additions, this I give the thumbs down.

The lesson? Don't spam kick/bash/disarm in combat.
"A man's reputation is what other people think of him; his character is what he really is."

And until you look at what the stamina penalty actually -is-, I don't think people should really complain.

It's not like they said "here.  Have a skill.  It's completely against the rules to practice this skill to ever get better at it.  But it's a really cool skill!  Best one in the game!"

Lesson?  You're taking the primary 3 abilities that make warriors worth a shit, and putting a penalty (i'm not exactly sure how severe, not using a warrior =P) That could potentially lead to their demise.  Right -- That would be the equivalent of rangers losing stun for navigating storms.  Merchants losing hp for selling supplies.  I dissaprove, entirely.

So, for all you know, this is a penalty of 2 points of stamina, and you could be claiming this is the End Of The World for Warriors?

Seriously, folks.  You should play with this before you rail against it.  It's only fair.

that two points of stamina could be the difference of life and death, nothing is too minor to be considered a threat.

1) There's already a thread about this.

2) You can usually make a more effective argument without littering your post with vulgarity and curses.

3) It makes problems for d-elves? SWEET!

An excellent description of the world we play in.

We do have a thread discussing this change, right here:

Child, child, if you come to this doomed house, what is to save you?

A voice whispers, "Read the tales upon the walls."

I do agree with Fightclub.  How can you put a damper on the three main skills that make up a warrior?  It does seem a bit unfair that the skills that make a warrior different from any other guild are getting penalized.

I too don't know the amount of the penalty, as I'm not playing a warrior character at the moment, but even if I was, I would still say that it's unfair.
After knocking back a mouthful of the contents of a full shot-glass, toking away on a rolled joint directly afterwards you say in desert-accented sirihish:
"They call me Tuber, and my son is Tuber-tot."

The fact is, to me, it still doesn't do anything.

As a human/half-elf/dwarf. You can still kick, bash, and disarm til your hearts desire and mount your kank after fucking over the desert elf and ride away like nothing happened. You can sue your kank to then cross the known world.

This just seems to be more against D-elf warriors than anything else. I guess we just don't trust the one karma players.

Play Smarter
There is a lot more to fighting than throwing kicks, disarms, and bashes at people. Hopefully, with the recent change, this will allow characters to fight smarter, instead of typing 'kill <target>, emo <action>, and kick, bash, or disarm. Warriors are the smartest, when it comes to engaging in combat. Use the wits of the warrior to tempt your opponent into using a special attack you, so that they grow weary, and you drop them with a suprise of your own. Try to end the battle as quick as possible with a disarm or a powerful bash as your first move and follow up with a series of attacks.

As for using stun as a substitute, I do not like the idea. It could cause an imbalance and a big playabiliy issue.

If you think the class is becoming a playability issue, I'll surrender my current character just for the sake of proving that it is not. Also, if you dislike the class so much and think rangers are so much cooler, play as a ranger.

I give the idea three thumbs up.

As for D-elves, I hope there is something out there for my poor babies.

You do not have that item.

*ahem*

Those are not the warrior's three primary skills.

The warrior's primary skills are the weapon skills, and parry.  Disarm/bash/kick are secondary combat moves.  To suggest that you're less of a warrior without them is silly.

D-elf warriors just got fucked.
A foreign presence contacts your mind.

No they didn't, they just got a couple fingers cut off.

There is something more? Well  the warriors skill sheet doesn't suggest it.

Bash kick disarm, are the three skills that make warriors worth playing.  They've been my -only- reason oocly for constructing a player to be a warrior in the past.  Because bash kick and disarm are brutal.  Furthermore Raes,  if you plan to put this in play, -please- check out your disarm bash kick spamming Gith and Mantis npc's out there, not only can they kick five times in two seconds, now they'll be immune to this stamina loss.  Wee!  I like how some warriors are treated better than others.

Kudos, Tamarin.

Though, I see them more as 'special combat moves' than 'secondary combat moves'.

Yeah, that's like saying people don't pick rangers for scan, listen, archery.  And all their other nifty abilities.  I don't buy it, sorry.  Disarm, and bash primarily are skills that make warriors, warriors.  If you're suggesting it's the weapon caps? Wrong.  how many players actually achieve these caps, very few.  But Disarm and Bash, are with the warrior for the long haul.

Answer #1) I'm in code discussion where this belongs.
Answer #2) I find it wards off undesired responses.
Answer #3) Not sweet.  Desert elves might be tough, but they have an even tougher life style to work with.  They're not chilling in the byn, drinking water from the everlasting tun of debths.  They actually have to -work- for what they have.  Contrary to popular belief.
