Change to scan?

A while back, hidden critters would show up as *A strange shadow is here.*.  Nowadays, I'm seeing critters that are regularly hidden standing around with their normal ldescs.  Is this the result of a change to the scan skill, or are these things just not hiding at the moment?

I -think- that it is because you happen to be catching them not hiding. I'm not 100% on this though.

I second the lazy bum before me, I think your just catching them, as I have seen what your seeing but don't have scan.

No change was made to scan, so yeah, you're likely catching them while they're not hiding.
