I can't See It, But I Can Feel It

Has anyone discussed a minor code change to darkness? I understand that I can't see anything on my person in total darkness, but my hands still work. I should be able to feel for things, like when trying to find a light source in my belt or something like that.

I think some (all?) light sources can be taken from containers even in the dark.
