Two emote suggestions.

1) I'd like to be able to use the command emotes when moving.

"east (holding ~oprah in his arms)" doesn't work.

2) I wish that when I emoted while looking at someone, I saw my own emote.
Brevity is the soul of wit." -Shakespeare

"Omit needless words." -Strunk and White.

"Simplify, simplify." Thoreau

In case 1) I'd just use "east (holding the polka-dotted dwarf in his arms)"

#2 would be neat, but it's not really essential. You can be pretty sure what it's going to look like... all you would seewould be

You look at the fat man, casting a glance over  your shoulder and you see:

BLa
bLa
blA
etc
etc
etc
etc

... So you dont really need it, just imagine it in your head...
your mother is an elf.

I think the point is so that you can know you typed the emote properly. I know I used to type:
look someguy (glancing down the bar)
When it should be:
look someguy glancing down the bar
But without a feedback echo, you can't tell that you are goofing up.

You'll never be able to use targets in move emotes because the game can't garauntee that the target will exist in both rooms (the one you leave and the one you enter).

I do agree that look commands shouyld be echoed back to the looker.  Move emotes too.

Never is a strong word. It really depends on how their interperter was designed. But if the targets are found in the look function, then passed to the interperter as pointers, it shouldn't be hard to make it work. You just look for targets in this room, then targets in the next room.

I would love to be able to do:

w charging toward ~noble with a knife
to have them see:
The crazed, wild-eyed man runs in from the east, charging toward the stuffy, over-dressed noble with a knife.

Or perhaps some more mundane things. It would give raiders or assassins another chance to emote.

Keep in mind, no comma in the look emote.

"l steve glancing down the bar"
yields (From Steve's perspective)
The Arm-playing man looks at you glancing down the bar.

That makes it sound like STEVE is glancing down the bar, not you.

Better is "l steve with a glance down the bar"

I find the lack of parentheses helps me remember this, because the way I type in the command is pretty much how it's going to come out, directly with no comma.

QuoteKeep in mind, no comma in the look emote.

Good to note. Just one more reason it helps to get an echo on an emote. I'm used to most other places (talk, etc) where they do put a comma in.
