Wishing and Replies

A few times, I have had to have extended conversations with one or more of the staff through the wish channels.  Now, since the staff are usually wizi most of the time, it isn't possible to wish directly to a specific one, so I end up doing 5 or 6 "wish all"s, and I can't believe that this doesn't annoy some of the uninvolved staff.

How does everyone feel about a "wish reply" command, that would let you send a message back to the staff who messaged you, as opposed to sending the global "wish all" command which would be heard by all the staff?

Nice one. I have actually considered this myself in the past. Strangely, I never thought of anything like this. I do worry about annoying other staff. However, I think the staff want to hear all the wishes that come around and/or I think they can disable their own ability to hear wishes. Correct me if I'm wrong. Regardless, I think it's terrific.

I agree - a wish reply or just "reply" would be a great tool I think - at least from my perspective as a player. I recall responding once in a rather - overly cheerful "tone" to thank an IMM who did something especially wonderful, or quick, or something - and my response ended up as an imm comment on my account notes. Kinda embarrassing, since I'm guessing that imm had no idea who I was responding to or why.

We don't actually mind hearing the one-sided conversation (often the staff member talking to you will tell everyone else -their- side of the conversation too), and if it becomes annoying, we usually yell at the staff member to do something about it, heh.

It can also be frustrating from our point of view when the staff member talking to you doesn't tell everyone else they're talking to you, and we hear these obscure one-sided conversations.  This is complicated by the fact that some people just randomly wish up things that sound like they're already talking to someone, when they aren't.

The most sensible reason to NOT have a "reply" command is so everyone on staff DOES know what's going on, and it serves as a loose failsafe for ST's like myself who may get overeager about talking to someone and forget it could/should be done more appropriately in email.  Aside from that, I can see benefit to something akin to a "reply" command, or "wish reply" switch.
