Seeing how there are beetles everywhere, large and small, I thought this page was a nice resource to visualize the variety!

this reminds me that I just found out that 25% of the real world Earth's living population is... beetles.

This stretch of scrub lies on low, sandy hills broken by boulders
and towering stacks of black rock.  Hardy pech grasses and maar
trees are the predominant plants here, though a few swathes of
arruth grass snake through the scrub.

Long yellowish gesra grass sways gently in the breeze, completely
covering the gently rolling hills stretching out in all directions.  Cleanly
cut tree stumps poke up from the soil, evidence of recent logging in the
area.  Old, cracked wagon ruts streak the sides of the low hills, and here
and there the grasses give way to wide swathes of cleared sand or
hardscrabble.  Only the occasional cracked boulder or tumbled spire breaks
the fertile monotony of the landscape.  The air here is dry, but there is a
slight hint of moisture, something normally only felt near an oasis.  Far to
the northwest a line of purple mountains crosses the horizon, slopes
shrouded in dusky haze.
You try to climb, but slip.
You plummet to the ground below...

Duskhorn scale leather armor (I've made chainmail since I was a kid and would always get in arguments with armorers about whether scalemail is real. I love how new archaeology continuously proves me right about armaments, gender in armed forces, etc)

Cover it with red hair, beef it up a little, and thats a zalanthan tarantula.

Not the best of angles, but it's finally healed.

HFS I have heard about.

I tried to use DALL-E 2 to generate some character portraits and while I don't know if they captured the characters I was going for, they're pretty cool!

The tall, dark-haired elf looks over at you from a shadowy Labyrinth alleyway.

The short female in the dark, hooded cloak seated at the square, wooden table looks up at you.

Idk what she's riding but it's pretty awesome

You know I think if James simply retitled his thread "Cheese" and apologized for his first post being off-topic, all problems would be solved.
