Have you wished up in game and changed your objective to reflect your desire to have your character stored?

I'd say play your character after typing "change objective I would like this character stored when someone can get to it" and occasionally wish up with a politely phrased request to be stored.

I can't answer how the staff would look at you if you got killed and were wasting their time, but I'm sure they'd understand.
