Should tents have a delay to set up and break down?

No way!

I would like to see a decent length delay on setting up and breaking down a tent. The craft kinda delay, not the combat type and a decent length one at that. I think you should be able to break concentration if you have to but It just bugs me when someone just 'drop tent, make tent, enter tent' within about three seconds.

Sounds like a great idea :)

If there is "to-do" list that the staff keeps close at hand, then I definitely think that this should go on it.
..and the puppet explodes.

Totally.
It's so fast I can't even spit out an emote before I've packaged the damn thing up.

I think it should have a nice long delay both ways.

Eh, the only real necessity I could see for this is to keep someone from walking by and snatching up the tent in two seconds.  Otherwise, you could do the process just fine with emotes and such.
Any questions, comments, or condemnations to an eternity of fiery torment?

I've no problem with a tent delay, but I would like to comment on a principle that can be applied to many aspects of the game:

Just because something can be done, doesn't mean it should.

None of you are forced to set up that tent in 2 seconds.  Take some time, lay it on the ground, roll it out, RP staking it down and setting up the poles.  Then, when you feel you've taken the appropriate amount of time, actually use the code that allows the tent to be used.  If someone in your group is doing this, why don't you lead by example and say something to them about not entering a tent that isn't properly constructed - then take it down and do it the right way.

The code allows for lots of things that aren't realistic, but that doesn't mean we need to have a hard coded solution to solve it.  If you can persuade or teach other player's to consider this concept, then you will be doing a much larger service to the MUD than adding a simple tent delay.
