This is a reminder to all players that if you suspect staff misconduct or notice a deviation from our rules and policies, it's crucial that you report your concerns through the appropriate channels. Use the Staff Complaint or Staff Feedback request types, which come directly (and only) to Halaster and me. The Staff Feedback requests are for opening a dialogue with us about potential minor concerns, while Staff Complaints are addressed following a strict procedure involving review by the Player Committee. We take the fair treatment of players, their safety, and the proper behaviour of our staff very seriously. The process with the Player Committee has been highly effective in helping us address difficult situations, take appropriate action, and continually update and improve our policies where needed. However, this process only works to protect our game and community if you bring your concerns to us in full.

I also want to remind you of the additional protections provided by the Whistleblower Policy. Personally, I regret that such a policy was ever needed in this community, and I would much rather work hard to ensure that no player ever needs to invoke it. However, it is there if needed, with the caveat that it only applies if you have made a good faith effort to communicate with staff through the proper channels, as outlined in the linked document.

If, instead of bringing genuine concerns of misconduct directly to the caretakers of the game and community, you choose to air one-sided, curated accounts of grievances out of context and in front of a kangaroo court of public opinion with a jury of armchair critics, it's hard not to question your motivations. By doing this, you're seeking to create judgment of the game from those who can neither verify the facts nor see the situation objectively from all perspectives, including your own actions and participation. This approach bypasses the very people who have the insight and ability to assess the full picture and address any issues fairly and thoroughly. You take away our ability to protect the game and other members of the community while damaging the credibility of your own claims.
